Imagine in the past summer, knowing of these guys signing...... Ashby, just had loans into the Champ. White, just had a very good return at MK with 6 goals and 2 assists from 35 games (23 starts) in L2. Sibley, rough last few years but young and had experience of L1 at Rotherham. Jackson, promotions under his belt and CH football. Mullin, scores unreal amounts of goals at Wrexham with back to back to back promotions on his CV. Evans, just had a full season back at Blackpool after MCL injury hell, 10 goal involvements from DM. Wheatley, underwhelming at Walsall but has a good record at United level, very raw forward.

If someone said 6 months ago that those lads would be coming through the door, most fans would be over the moon at most if not all names on the list. But that 6 months of injury and not playing have done nothing fot Ashby or White who had similar summers to winters fitness wise. Ashby has looked average, nothing bad nothing great so far in his short time and White looks a player with zero confidence. Sibley another who barely kicked a ball and needs sharpness. Mullin played well when he played, just that he rarely played at Wigan. Evans started but whatever had gone on with Evatt has derailed him. Wheatley is the only one who was regularly playing before joining, but in a really negative system.

We want the players to discover what they were 9-12 months ago or even better in some cases. But maybe we have taken on a few too many guys who have had a little too long out to all come up to speed at once? I hope they all find their feet soon and can be. the players they have shown they can be.

What full back are you talking about?! Mumba? You don’t think Bali Mumba would get into our team? Incredible.

    Exactly.
Town have spent millions and are still sat below us.
I don't care if they've had Grant or Not.
Against us we were really depleted and they were fired up with a new gaffer and it was only 1-0.

We've recruited experience at this level and above.
    Apart from Wheatley and White.
It's definitely what we've been short of in the matches where we've looked poor.
Our squad is a lot stronger now.
Can we improve the ppg and secure a play off place with it???
Will the experience see us through a play off campaign?

Its almost risking having a new pre-season again given the level of squad churn. That said, our progress had stalled, we lost three in a row and were dire at Lincoln, so the mad week we’ve had was very much needed.

I think we will ease in the new lads gradually to lessen potential disruption. Mullin was benched and is stepping his fitness back up it seems. Jackson cramped up. Even Bobby and Pennington aren’t long back from injuries. But we now look to have a much stronger bench than we had at the Dogs and Lincoln, and that should stand us in good stead as we try and hold on in the top six around a set of rivals who have really strengthened.

it already looked Cardiff’s title and Bolton and Stockport signed well. Lincoln are an effective side that look nailed on top six and Dogs and Luton are gonna be stronger now than they were under previous bosses. We might just miss out, we’ll have to wait and see. Buckle up, Bantams!

My opinion at the start of the window was we needed 3/4 good quality players for this level.

We've ended up bringing in 7, admittedly with quite a few outgoings but it feels very much like quantity over quality.

I can only see Wheatley and Jackson improving the starting XI and with regards to Wheatley, that's only because he's actually a striker. Time will tell if he's any good. Sibley at a push maybe, but he's not realistically starting over Pointon.

We've not done anything to address the lack of creativity in the squad and seem to have stocked up on plenty of strikers despite only playing with one.

Personally I get the impression that we were outmuscled by other clubs for some of the players we really wanted which is disappointing considering the position we find ourselves in.

It certainly doesn't scream "going for it".

Completely agree. We have some unrealistic fans who think this a poor window.
The main departures have been Cook, Halliday, Pattison, Leigh, Kavanagh, Byrne.

Many of these weren’t even in the team!

I’m yet to be convinced by Ashby and White, but the others all seem like solid signings…. Jackson, Mullin, Evans, Sibley have all played L1 and Champ and have the experience we need.

The clips of Wheatley look promising.

I’m disappointed that Halliday went but overall I think that whilst it’s not been a spectacular window, it’s been a solid one and we certainly aren’t weaker IMO.

It's going to be tough i think to get the play offs, just because we need a few too many to find form as well as us starting to look a threat again from open play when we just havent for a while. Wigan win, set piece. Vale win, set piece. Blackpool win error and a set piece. They might get us out of jail but we need to start flowing in open play again.

Cardiff, Stockport, Lincoln, Bolton & Huddersfield are the top 5 for me. The last spot is between us, Luton and I think Peterborough might actually come good, maybe not enough to catch up they won't be far off.

We’ve brought in players with pace and players who know where the net is. Jackson and Wheatley will wear teams down and Mullin is prolific and will put away the chances Humphrys and Swan missed.

we can use Humphrys out wide as a threat again, in games where Bobby isn’t on it.

The other day we had Tommy Leigh and Kavanagh as options off the bench. I just can’t see how fans can think we aren’t stronger now.

When Mullin is fit and we get the ball into his feet, he’ll shine here. We aren’t quite on it yet but it’ll click again soon, maybe when this tough run ends.

I am quite happy with the outcome of that transfer window. We have moved on players who generally were not featuring in the team. We have brought in players who have played in higher leagues plus some young players with potential. We have not given out long contracts bar Jackson so have not saddled ourselves with high wages should we remain in League One next season. I think we will be competitive and GA now has options on the bench he did not have before. We also have not spent silly money on inflated January fees.

It's tough, feels like it's us holding onto the gap between us and Luton. A loss there at the weekend could be devastating.
