That’s what happens when you get injuries , I thought that was the reason these changes were made?
Not acceptable they were made but think why? I thought it was common knowledge that Baldwin, Pennington, Bobby were injured and Tilt just coming back from injury ?

 

Did much happen after that?

 

I get the caution with Tilt given he's just coming back from injury and played the full game on Tuesday, but picking Byrne whilst McIntyre is sat warming the bench makes no sense whatsoever to me. Baffling.

 

I think everyone can name 7 or 8 that we wouldn't particularly miss if they left and were replaced.

 

Almost as baffling as playing T Wright on the right with Neufville on the bench

 

McIntyre is left footed so what are we suggesting he plays on the right ? He tried that stupid trick with TWright and Kav playing them on the “wrong side Where does Kelly play , on the right instead? That’s another player on the wrong side ?

 

Tick. Playing wrong side seems to be the “go to” ?

 

I have no idea what the "right" side is for Tyreik. He seems reluctant to take his man on whichever side he plays

 

I'm not sure it's exactly the same for centre halves. Yes, the passing out from the back would be more difficult but just doing the basics of defending well, which imo McIntyre would do, would be on a performance level way above Byrnes capabilities at this level.

 

J. Wright would move across to the right McIntyre centre which he has looked good at when he played there and tilt on the left that's what I expect at Blackpool. Neufville for Halliday. Sarcevic back in for kav with T wright moving across to the left.

Not doubting Byrnes lack of defending qualities and pace ,that’s a different issue . We cannot play players on the wrong side , it doesn’t work with L1/2 players , they spend more time on their backside or the forward would just cut inside on the defenders wrong foot. Centre half yes I agree with your observation re centre half so what would your formation be rightly taking out Byrne because he’s crap on the basis left footed players play on the left of the back three and right footed players play on the right.

With critical injuries to right footed players we were stuffed unfortunately.

 

It’s been repeatedly said Wright lacked pace on the right of the back three , hence GA swapping him and Baldwin over at half time during recent games so that’s a non starter.

 

That’s fair , playing him on the right just compounded his lack of ability , yes?
