Interesting interview by BBC Derby sport with Gary Bowyer after Burton’s draw with Cardiff. Reading between the lines I think they may be open to selling Beesley and deal we thought was happening, could still potentially happen. He says words along the lines of ‘most clubs are selling clubs’ ‘it’s a business’ and ‘players will go if they get a better offer’ etc.

 

Someone who can play centrally and also carry the ball forward would be ideal. I believe there's a lad at Portsmouth who can do that quite well.

 

I don't think it's that odd as it's only a 45 minute flight to Ireland from Leeds Bradford so I imagine he does it quite often to visit family. It's the hand wave emoji that seems a bit weird.

 

Doubt we had to pay off Halliday though - bet he thought all his xmas's had come at once with that offer. He will have said terminate it and gone for zip because I bet Dundee offered him parity weekly and then 2 years on top. If he wanted to be paid out we could have been pissy and said no, you are staying until June.

Jackson on the other hand was on £12k a week. 5 months left is around £250k owed so im guessing Derby made him a decent offer and we topped it up with a deal of around £5-6k a week for 2.5 years.

 

Agreed - CB, CM, and CF.

If Lapslie is happy to be a bit part until the summer and coming in when Sarcevic has his spells out he will probably stay. Leigh will go if an offer comes in IMO. We need another CM as we are a bit short but we have Sibley who has enough experience there too.

Wheatley will be announced as a 'deadline day' signing and if Kelly goes, yeh, we need another CB. You would think one of the CB and CM needs to be permanent.

 

29 years old, utter shite for Blackpool last season and has never (up until this season) completed over 30 league games in a season due to form/injuries.

Having a good season this year but for £500k....Im not convinced. Mullin and Wheatley should be enough to add to Swan and Hump.

 

When everyone was getting giddy about Young being god's gift to football and worth millions after his one off purple patch at Swindon I posted that he'd end up in non-league.

Looking at the "quality" of the SPL on those highlights I think I was aiming too high.

Of course all clubs are open to offers it’s all part of the game to play disinterested with the first offer. They might be a bit panicky if they think the brush off might have sent us off to find another player Hd would be great.

I'd rather we'd make a move for Charlie Webster over Beasley tbh.. but I guess if he was available there would be more than us interested.

 

Yeah, if we'd had be just persisted and given him time we could have had a good league two striker on our hands.

 

Webster was probably the best opposition midfielder I have seen at VP this season
