Good news, our best defender IMO.

 

I can see us signing Shepherd and Benn in the summer window .

 

Let's face it. Our defence is absolutely fine and in League two every team will make the odd mistake. I'm sure we're top 6 for goals condeeded, which considering we hardly dominate games is pretty good.

Just need to score more goals. That's literally the issue. I genuinely think we're only two players short of climbing the table rapidly.

 

Armstrong from Carlisle anyone, till end of season ?.

If he were available then possibly - but I think he might get Vadaine syndrome where he just never starts and never scores.

I think we need someone more used to doing well as a second striker than an out and out forward. I think if I remember right his best form for Harrogate he was up top. Had pace and strength, but did it all himself - like Cook.

 

Just a text from a fellow fan so until it happens class it was rumour, he's hardly been a success after Carlisle pay a decent fee for him, glad we didn't after it was doing the rounds we were interested during the closed season.

 

I hope it's not Cooks replacement .

Shift Vadaine to Gillo and we can happily bring Armstrong in - but yeah, not for Cook!!

 

Carlisle fans were saying earlier this week he's off to Gateshead in exchange for one of their forwards.

Remember Christian Doidge? He did ace for Forest Green in non-league, got his move up the ladder, and now... back with FGR in non league.

If Armstrong does the same, that will be telling of both strikers.

 

As I posted rumour until it happens, I believe we were interested ( until the price was mentioned) during the closed season I thought it might be possible, Cook, Armstrong and Pattison ?.

 

Owen Oseni is the man apparently. He's a 21 year old striker with 9 goals and 1 assist so far this season from 22. Good return to say he doesn't finish 90 mins a lot.

I can see why we would be linked to Armstrong, he was in the Boro U21 squad with the likes of Halliday and Pattison whilst Gent was on the books too.

 

I won't write any player off until I've seen him play for us, we might have a gem on our hands Oliver had one good season I hear .
