I think it is obvious that the ‘old heads’ are not giving us any advantage, despite some having played at a higher level. We wouldn’t be sat in 10th position if their experience gave us any sort of advantage. They have struggled in League 2 for coming up half a season. If we were to somehow get promoted, then unless their contracts end or we could release them and/or another club was interested, then clearly they wouldn’t stand the pace in League 1, and we would at best struggle to stay up.

Most, if not all, of Cook's partners have been consistent, although I suspect that's wasn't the sort of consistency you were looking for. ;)

There are some stats which do count in my opinion: the average League 2 winner scores just under 2 goals a game and concedes 1 per game. We're on track for that defensively but miles off it offensively. We don't score enough goals. It's as simple as that.

Whatever we do in January has to address that problem. Mr Rupp needs to get his cheque book out and sign another goal scorer whether that be a striker, no.10, wide attacker, whatever. We need someone else who gets 15 goals a season and gets 10 assists.

Such players don't come cheap and I'm not sure I'd trust the current hierarchy to recruit one even if we have the money.

Pace has been required and more importantly shown to be required since MH’s reign.
I consider the release of players like Smallwood and Walker to be imperative going forward . They have done their bit but we must move on .

Lack of a goal threat bar Cook and pace through out the squad have been an issue for 4 years now. Not one ounce of confidence they’ll fix it. It will be an injury pun and some premier league academy players on there 2nd or 3rd underwhelming loan. We all know the score we’ve been here too many times.

Bye then. He isn’t that great. Plays in flashes, too slow and struggles to run with the ball.

Unless it is really silly money, i just can not see it.
The club are far from being looked upon favourably by many and this would be the ultimate own goal.
    Stranger things have happened though.

Weird one with a potential Pointon move. I dunno how much teams can read into him as he's been used in that CM 3 group, as a 10, out wide, he supported Kav up top a few games back when Cook was banned. But it's all cameos and short spells, he's in and out constantly... how much can teams actually put together to pin him as a target for thier wing or midfield? He's also 21 in a few weeks, so it's not like these clubs can sit him in the u21s for too long to find out. He'd be bought to be loaned out most likely as I can't imagine any L1/CH clubs would buy him for good money and put him in the first team at the minute, given he is so in and out at our place.

Pointon has flashes where you think "he's amazing, why doesn't he start more?"... Then he starts and fades away more often than not so far. I think he needs a proper role ironed out and then the consistency will come.

It wouldn’t be an own goal if the money was good but we all know where rumours originate? He’s been a breath of fresh air amongst not a great deal tbh. That speak’s volumes . Would we miss him and could he be replaced . I can’t see it been nothing more than Corn Dolly musings because he’s still far too light weight at the moment for the higher divisions .

The right manager would get the best out of him and if he goes to that person, the club will be rightly slaughtered by the fanbase. He’s only now been given the chance to play closer to opposition goal, than at LWB or wherever he was put recently.

It would be an absolutely giant own goal regardless of the money I think as no one trusts the club to firstly spend the money, or if they did, spend it wisely enough to invest properly and not just fritter it away.

Why would you want us to lose our most promising youngsters who has already established himself as one of our best players.

No surprising playing with better players will benefit Bobby's game.

You should sit near me I said to the guy sat next to me last Saturday it wouldn't surprise me to see an offer come in for Bobby even accepting as @Jordan@Jordan says he drifts in and out of games but at 20 year old I don't think that unusual, he said no chance he's not good enough, time will tell.

Because we already have about 3 or 4 players that can play in his position. We can sell and use the money wisely.

The only player we can’t replace is Cook but I would cash in on him if it means getting in 2 forwards that can partner up well.

Like it or not this squad isn’t good enough and we not need to learn to move players on to build. We kept Walker for what? Now it means we are overstocked in that position and Bobby isn’t that much better than Walker or at all.

Sorry mate, don't get your logic. Surely we try and hold onto our best players, especially the younger ones.

You've changed your tune about Cooky, you were always saying that he hampers us playing him, never understood that logic either.
