Half of the problem Park is people on social media believe their own transfer hype and get wound up when the transfers don’t “come off” .

Look at the signings that have been made in the division today….95% untried kids with little or no game time in men’s football …..do we really want another?

I think Khela has been brought in as a utility player for the bench who can cover Smallwood's position where the only other player we have who could do that is Pattison and we don't really want him to play there as that would restrict him going forward.
If we found a loan striker that we wanted I think we would have done it as it would end up being a choice between Mellon and that player for a place on the bench.

The problem with trying to bring in another striker I'd imagine was convincing someone to join who was at the level we need, where as a loan or permanent, is that we only really have space for 2 strikers plus Leigh in the matchday squad whilst we are playing this formation so they likely would have a fight to get into the 18 nevermind the 11.

    I don’t think it’s a disappointing window at all.

Well, let's hope Mellon is our secret weapon.

I think Kavanagh has done all right scoring in 1-0's against struggling sides, so might get us a couple more goals against Harrogate and Accrington at home, but I think we're left hoping Michael Mellon comes good - REALLY good - if we're not going to over-rely on Sarc/Pattison against better sides.

None specifically. But we could have brought a prem/champ loan striker in. Worked for Walsall for 6 months

You mean a kid…..with zero league experience. About 1/50 actually do anything …The kid Walsall loaned is being slaughtered on their forum , so is the kid at Carlilse . BOTH from Man U!

They very very rarely pay off!

Didn't really expect another striker to come in. Pre-window, we played with two strikers and only one attacking mid or sometimes a flat 3. We now have settled on a system that uses just one striker and two attacking mids. Most people would agree on the two-player per-position rule. No one of any quality is going to want to come and potentially be sat in the stands; a striker was never happening. I'm more concerned about the quality than the quantity, but that doesn't mean going all FIFA mode and signing a million players. Granted, we have done in some positions, but there have been injuries. Mellon was Cook's replacement. Hence, he was going to Chesterfield the week before Cook's injury.

Another window in the books! Hopefully we have enough up top but it's a worry with Mellon having knocks and issues on all his loan spells so far and Kavs inconsistent play.

There's always the free agent market too if any decent ones are left.

I found something on Twitter, but it doesn't look like a serious account.

The claim was Derby were going to cancel his contract and he was going to sign for us.

Then the claim was we had applied for an extension - which we wouldn't need if his contract had been cancelled ahead of the deadline?

I think it's just someone who doesn't rate him hoping he goes away

The EFL also don't have an extension like the Premier League do. The EFL is strict 11pm deadline, 1 second after that and it's too late.

A decent enough window but letting 3 attackers go, losing our top scorer for the season and only signing a kid in Mellon and an attcking midfielder as an option is criminal.

If we fail again and it is due to lack of goals then heads need to role.
