I wouldn't say no but its 6 years ago that Nahki left under similar circumstances he's now 33 years old 34 in June doesn't time fly, never say never I believe Nahki's contract at Bristol City is up in June.

 

Not a chance. He's played 15 times for Bristol this season and itching to get back into the team after 2 months out injured.

Actually 10 years ago that Wells left us, Jesus wept that's gone quick.

He's also under contract until summer 2025 and is rumoured to be earning around the mid 20,000s per week..... cant see that one happening. He'll be 35 when his Bristol contract ends, they'll likely want him out in the summer but won't find a club that will take on those wages and he'll probably be a L1 striker at best by then. Saw a few of their games on TV last season, doesn't have that burst of pace these days, more the poacher in the box type.

 

I'd have him back this season if it was possible, I'm saying it's a pipe dream.

 

Agreed. Best striker we've had in the last 15-20 years. Young, Hanson, Wyke, Cook don't come close

 

I wonder if it's Matty Longstaff? Everyone knows we are light at CM. He was on loan at this level when his bad injury occurred, probably will find a club in this league again. He's been training with Newcastle as they invited him to train and rehab at the club still even after his deal expired.

He's apparently fit again now but obviously will be nowhere near match fit. But is another North East lad, a name with some value excitement I suppose for the younger fans? Just a thought as to who might be available and potentially a name to lift?

Cant remember what the Mansfield reviews were to be fair. But on paper, 6 goals from 16 starts all from open play in centre midfield isn't to be sniffed at. I know he joined Colchester with an injury, had odd moments in the team, few more niggles then his ACL injury.

 

I don’t get that move , it’s pretty much backwards again .I would have thought it better to challenge his development in L1?
