Carlisle have some money burning a hole in their pockets. Hasn't looked the same keeper as.last season but still would seem a strange place to go. That said it's league one and we.aint getting there anytime soon.

 

Carlisle have the money to go places so it would be a good move for him. But let’s have a good replacement first

 

If he does go, how a bout a cheeky punt to get Vigaroux on loan from Burnley ? Was the best keeper in l2 by a mile at Orient.

 

I wondered why Lewis didn't come on when Doyle got injured last night. Hmm...

 

Parker saying that we will have a replacement lined up if/when the deal is done.

 

I suspect the fee will be less than what was offered by Barnsley in the summer

 

In the "panic window" ? I would expect it to be more than Barnsley offered.

I agree Park, no doubt the club will have a replacement lined up if he does go.

 

If Lewis was to move on I wouldn't feel as bad as I did in the summer as he's never really rediscovered his form from last season, he not been bad in the last few months but equally hasn't been amazing. His value is probably lower than what it was in the summer as well and he doesn't look quite as irreplaceable as he was. Not surprised Carlisle are after a goalkeeper as they've got a 20 year old as number 1 after Tomas Holy had a few shockers and has been dropped.
It will be interesting to see whether we go to buy another keeper or go for a loan to see us through to the summer.
1 name off the top of my head is Lawrence Ligouroux who's 3rd choice at Burnley whether they would let him out on loan, if we wanted to go back to Palace then they've got a 19 year old called Joe Whitworth who'd 3rd choice whilst Johnstone is injured, he's made 2 Premier League appearances so could be an opportunity for him to get 1st team minutes.

 

Will have to agree to disagree on that. I thought it looked very dodgy. He reminded me of a League 2 Onana!

The only keepers who've every really impressed me at this level have been Vigouroux and the lad at Stockport (can't remember his name).

Small sample size, but I think Doyle has looked just fine in his appearances. In fact. I think we've looked more solid as a side when he's played.

 

I am expecting quite a big clear out tbh. Think GA wants to put as much of his own mark on the squad as is practically possible. Not sure Lewis would be top of my clear out list but perhaps even he has become disillusioned with our lack of progress and feels it's time to go. What a sad state of affairs this is becoming

 

So, we're adding Carlisle to the list of clubs we can't compete with...?

Vigouroux has to be one of the best opposition keepers in league terms that we've played against for at least 5 years I reckon.

 

GA wants his keeper (and defenders) to hoof the ball up the pitch.

Firstly, Lewis hasn't got the longest kick. Secondly, he wants to play the ball out on the floor and pass it more.

Unsurprising to me that he's going. Just AGAIN shows a lack of coherent plan on the football side of things. We change our philosophy, formation, tactics, every time the manager changes, i.e. at least once a season.

 

Have we any chance of signing a goalkeeper like Vigouroux?
