Cost me £255 that penalty miss yesterday. Absolutely mugged me off.

    'good player' ??

I'm right chuffed for him that he's doing well at Grimsby after years of doing nothing apart from getting drunk and thrown out of nightclubs, but let's not start making ridiculous comments like that.

He is at this level tbf, he gets less effective as he goes up the leagues. But at league 2, I’d say it’s a fair assessment. It’s all relative.

To be fair on Sheffield Utd mate. We could be 4 nil up at half time and Hanson would still play 90 mins for us.

It was PP that broke Hanson. He was already shot when we sold him. Absolute masterstroke by the club actually getting money for someone that wasn't fit for league football anymore.

    Injured again.

If Grimsby lose tomorrow against Barrow then that's them down for me and I will be shocked if he is a league player again.

He was used primarily on the left for Grimsby, there's a heat map somewhere of his games for them and it's all down the left hand side, all his goals came from cutting in.

He was already broken, how many times Parky sent him out with an injection to get him through games.

my wife works with his cousin and he's said there were games he doesn't even remember because of the pain killers he was on just to get through them.

And plenty that I'm only too happy to remember - Leeds, Burton, Arsenal, Villa, Notts County, Sunderland, Chelsea, to name a few.

I never get the hate shown against Hanson. Isn’t he third highest scorer for City? Like Offcomedun says, helped given me some of the best City memories in last 15 years.

Oh come on. There are plenty on here and on the old C&B forum who never missed any opportunity to have a go at Hanson, because his last couple of seasons here were poor. By which time he was a busted flush, having been run into the ground by PP.

I classed it as criticism. Some will be fair and some won't but its the same with every player. People are allowed their opinion and I don't understand the preciousness of some posters falsely labeling any slight criticism as "hate". Quite frankly it's nonsense.

If we're not allowed negativity aimed at players though, why is it acceptable to have a dedicated threads to a former player on a poor run? And if we're only allowed to criticise those who haven't historically done well for the club why was it acceptable to criticise, for example, Stuart McCall and Nahki Wells?

I agree. Played longer than he should have for me but not long enough if Stuart had his way.
