Why do you think the ship has sailed, 20 years old tomorrow shown in the right formation he can score goals if Alexander has had a sit down and listened to his concerns I don't see a problem, but if an offer does come in the club are happy to accept then I wouldn't be against the kid leaving.

 

Look at Youngs mature behaviour...coming back to club that he was allegedly treated very poorly. That adds some more money to any future teams possible buying him. Maturity and prepared to move on. Good lad I hope we sell for loads or you score for us for fun and take us up.. win flipping win

 

Ideally Young bangs in more goals here, helps us climb back up the league and then in the summer we’re talking a high 6 figure to 7 figure move to a top league 1 or champ side

 

There are never any guarantees that any player we sign will work out though - how many of the signings of completely new players over the past few seasons have really worked out? It feels like we've had far more duffs than successes and the only returning player in recent years that was doing well elsewhere and didn't work out when he returned is Doyle - and the circumstances then were completely different.
We will never know whether Young would have continued scoring if the fallout with Hughes never happened or was handled differently, but what we do know is he remained our second top scorer for ages after Hughes made the decision to stop playing him and that was because apart from Cook, nobody else was able to put the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis. His loan spell at Barrow wasn't a success, but you have to take into account that most of his appearances were for short spells from the bench. In total, Jake only featured in 24 league games last season, 7 for us and 17 for Barrow, playing a grand total of 807 minutes, so just short of the equivalent of nine 90 minutes. This season for Swindon, he has played 1960 minutes, so just short of 22 full games, and has 16 goals and 4 assists. If he wasn't already our player and there were rumours we were in for him, everyone would be over the moon so I don't understand why some are now so eager to cash in. Unless a stupid offer comes in for him, it would be complete madness not to give him a good run in the team.

We have to give Young until the end of the season, to see how he fares.
If he fits in and fires goals, fantastic. Increasing his value come the summer,when he still has 12 months left on his contract.
We could then offer a new deal or sell on for a better price.
If not we can try and move him on then

 

There is an awful lot of conjecture in there.

We / You don’t have a clue what his behaviour currently is. Vids, interviews ? Nil! He had NO CHOICE in the matter as he’s under contract with BCAFC. Where is your evidence to suggest his behaviour is somehow exemplary ?

Treated very poorly by MH as you allege not by the club which you also now allege.

Maybe his attitude is to actually show Hughes up even more and lets be right we have scored 2 goals in our last 3 games ..........dont you think bringing the leagues top scorer is gonna help that ??????

Kev I think you would argue with feather mate.... ? Jake was quoted that he fell out with Hughes ? If not I stand corrected that a 4 year contract player was told to go to another club and may never pay for us again?

I dont know anything as in the know but I am impressed with anyone that comes back to a place they dont like or have had a bad experience. As I said a win-win for us. Peter Beagrie is an example of someone that did superb back at City.

 

Read your post again my friend. You are say he’s being “ Mature” . Where is the evidence? The real evidence and fact is he has no choice but to return to his contracted employer.

Pretty certain that GA has asked him to play a bit deeper and join in the midfield battling duties as opposed to been purely behind the front two.

That's because you're clueless. Have you not seen the graphic! Conclusive proof, despite the smokescreen the manager and player might be giving out!

 

Mind games.

If the player and manager pretend he's playing more of an 8 role, the opposition won't realise he is actually playing as a 10, and will just leave him unattended to do what he wants.

All this talk about "signings dont always work out" well if you want to be risk averse, don't sign any players. Bit of a stupid argument dont you think? every player is a risk, but the same goes with life, if you dont take risks, you don't progress. Simple as that
