There's a guy in our Leeds office who's job as part of a team is to watch PL games a few times over in different feeds to make sure clubs have the correct contracts to show what's advertised on the virtual LED boards pitch-side. Literally paid to watch football. But he said before it's a nightmare as a simple contract for Sure mens antiperspirant will have hundreds of clauses that need vetting as well as switching it on certain US or EU feeds to be Rexona antiperspirant rather than Sure.

After seeing his explanation before of how over the top things as simple as "Fulham can show this ad in the UK" was with the footballing bodies, I'm not surprised things are so easily muddied in football contracts. On transfer clauses on the EFL rulebook, there's about a thousand sections and sub sections with very little change paragraph to paragraph, can see why fans can be bothered to get into the weeds on stuff as it's so easy to get something wrong.

I need a KC who specialises in Football Contracts to unpick that!

However having a stab at it, it seems to suggest 'First Contract'. Well his first contract as a Senior player was with FGR and not City. Although it is another world down in Nailsworth, it is not an 'International' transfer.

So I would suggest City would not be liable to paying a fee/percentage on those grounds.

If as it is suggested, Young's contract with FGR had expired, he wasn't offered a fresh one, then City would not be liable to pay any sum be it 5% or less.

Seems our society today doesn't like the cruel to be kind approach buts it's the best advice you will ever get. The earlier you get this sort of wake up call the quicker you'll benefit.

You really need to get real. It happens all the time in football. Can you please explain Breach of Contract?

I reckon @Kevin1954@Kevin1954 has made more posts about Jake Young than Young has scored goals for Swindon this season,

It is a close run thing though

You aren’t far wrong. ;) . Much more interesting than talking about Owners, real or non existent , CeO’s , Directors of Football, or Secretaries, Chief Scouts, Heads of Recruitment, or Administrators

Football thrives on …footballers .

Married with 2 children and a mortgage at 22 years old, just over 12 months out of my apprenticeship, that was certainly a reality check, I wouldn't have had it any different.

Its a shame he had to leave. Any DECENT man manager would have defused the outburst and then sorted it out in private before re introducing him to the group

What on earth are you babbling on about. If Young refuses to play just stop his wages and let him rot.

And why would he refuse to play? He trained when Hughes banished him from the team waitung for his recall.

You seem to look for none existent issues.

What ever young thinks says or does, it would be exceptionally dumb to leave him at Swindon. I'd rather he came back and scored for us, but if the other option is he comes back and festers, then it beats him firing Swindon into the play offs.

Other than derailing Swindon do we really need young back now other than backup

Who do we drop... Cook possibly but would young and Smith work

Are people now suggesting Young as the centre forward? Never in a million years would I class him as a target man unless we completely do away with the position for one player and change how we approach a game?
At Swindon he plays off Austin who is no lightweight and to a lesser degree Kemp in the middle. We don’t have a Kemp and Smith is too lightweight.
