I just think it's disrespectful and unprofessional when nothing official has been said yet.

How the hell would Grimsby or Artell know.
Has he even been for the scan yet , the injury was only 48 hours ago.
He needs to concentrate on his own players and what possible formation we might play tomorrow without Cook.

Indeed. It's all conjecture at this stage until the scan has been concluded and a specialist has looked at it. That's the responsibility of our club and not the manager of Saturday's opponents.

The injury happened on Saturday of last week. The club haven’t updated its fans. However, the longer with no news it’s clear it’s an ACL

Footballers talk and know what’s what. Now, I understand the club waiting for any bruising to go down but it’s been nearly a week and he should have been scanned by now and news out in the press.

It doesn’t look good does it? Either way he’s out for a fair while I would say.

He knows as much as us but we all know there's a strong chance he's right. Not his place to say it though.

He used his “best squad in league” claim that some on here soaked up like a sponge before our game at their ground.
Just another attempt at taking the pressure off his team.

    Poor effort this time though.
Not his place to comment on a rumour about an opposing player.

He’d be all over it if it was GA commenting on his player.

That is the last resort! I prefer for the body to get rid of swelling on its own. Less interference the better.

They can’t @Fordy117@Fordy117. The scan would be useless until the swelling goes down they won’t be able to see everything for the swelling which is mostly liquid.

If it is then at absolute best case you are looking at 6 months out but more realistically 8-9 months. At his age you have to worry about what his level will be when he comes back and also he seems to be a player that has to work very hard to stay fit so being stuck in a knee brace won't be good for him either.

It will be very hard to find a replacement for him as nobody will want to let a striker go who's going to get 10-15 between now and the end of the season. The price we'll have to pay will be even higher now as teams and agents will know we are desperate. If it is that we can't find that player then we've got to have most of the likes of Pointon, Sarcevic, Kavanagh, Sanderson, Pattison and Lapsie chipping in with 5-10 goals between now and the end of the season.

As much as it is urgent I don't think we should rush in and panic then sign someone for the sake of it, we've got 2 weeks after tomorrow until the next league game so that gives us some extra time. When Cook has missed games before we've changed how we've played so I'd expect that to happen again. Scoring 4 goals in the last 2 games and 0 of them being scored by Cook should give the team some confidence that we can score without him.

Yes agree but when the knees and joints wouldn’t flex due to a virus , St Luke’s were stumped as anti/ b weren’t working . It worked and got me home within 5 days . Hirt though….bloidy big style .

In past years City have unearthed some gems in the striker (centre forward in those days) department, moving up from centre half.
I am thinking of the likes of Joe Cooke, Roy Ellam, Phil Babb, Steve Ingle, Graham Oates, Norman Corner to name but a few - all became regular goalscorers!
Now (with tin hat on!) let's throw a curve ball tomorrow and, as the likes of Kavanagh, Smith, Oliver and Sanderson don't seem to know where the net is, stick Shepherd or Byrne or Baldwin up there (at least the latter will be out of our own penalty area!!)
That'll confuse 'em Mr. Mannering **so funny
