You're probably right but the optimist in me is hoping he's just playing his cards close to his chest.

 

My guess is 2nd leg of maybe if we beat them at their place take them back to VP and save them for Wembley

 

yeah GA is no dummy, he'll definitely be cautious in his responses. But we have seen it in the past where players have question marks over fitness and then come back earlier than we may expect. It would be great if that applied here.

Getting Bobby and Tyreik available would give a massive boost to our chances of doing well in the playoffs. That we managed to still get there whilst missing them + Sarc is really to our credit.

 

If Bobby was fit I'm sure he would replace Lapslie, not sure who would drop out to play Tyreik.

 

Not sure i would drop Lapslie, he has earned another go, put Bobby on the bench
Ty would obviously be Touray ,but again, he has done nothing wrong to warrant being dropped

 

It would be utter madness to drop Lapslie if Pointon was in the reckoning. Start Lapslie with Pointon on the bench for impact of needed.

 

Agree with that but having Bobby and Tyreik as available options to bring in if/when needed would give us a massive boost.

 

On his recent performances I wouldn’t leave him out for anybody’

 

I’d be more than understanding and happy to keep them out of Saturdays game if truth be known . Adds risk to their recovery and saves them potentially for the home leg and beyond . Laps will do himself proud , his stamina is needed at Bolton?

 

Why , home yes, away so soon no.

 

We have Tommy Leigh back doubt he will be anywhere near though

 

I'd play Touray anyway given who he'd be up against in Cozier Duberry. After a spell out Wright could easily get caught cold against a really good player.

 

He's ineligible so it doesn't matter either way.

 

Agree about keeping in Lapslie regardless he has added a lot to the team in recent matches and deserves to keep his place with his workrate and aggression and positive involvement all over the pitch. I guess if either Tyreik or Bobby were available for the bench it could still be useful as an impact sub. If that's risky just keep them out of the squad and maybe they will have a chance with the home leg.

My ideal is they can make an appearance from the bench on Saturday and then be more in contention for the second leg, don't really want players coming in totally cold for such big games when we'll need to really hit the ground running.

 

Totally fair comments , best of both worlds, Lapslies energy is boundless and has reinvigorated our games just at the right time for the run in. I’ll trust GA to get the balance right only if BP and TW are actually fit. One thing they aren’t is game fit .

 

Yeah totally agree on match fitness. My gut feels like Bobby would fare better coming in more cold than Tyreik who seems more of a confidence player, just feel he may take a bit more to warm up. Such a shame for him as pre injury he was playing as well as he ever has for us and is always capable of making something happen. Could be a good 'finisher' but not starter, to use Serena Weigman's terminology!

Who knows eh, also trust GA to make the right call - i guess if they can play some part it will certainly make us stronger than we have been so that's all good.

 

I think Laps should keep his place He is Sarce legs. He is running backwards and forwards picking up the ball and taking it forward. He has shored up that midfield which we needed so we can attack. When he is not there our midfield is left open at times.
