Put in an empty HDMI slot and then select that as the input on your remote, So if HDMI 2 is vacant put in there and select HDMI 2 as the input on your remote control

As I have previously mentioned, I purchased a micro PC before this season started. It's just 12cm x 12cm and it sits next to my broadband hub and main TV and is connected directly to my broadband hub by ethernet cable and directly to the TV by HDMI cable.

The micro PC is used solely for television purposes, mostly iFollow plus other live events (e.g. gigs). It performs well and, other than the away Bolton match (which we all had a refund for) it has performed very well.

As far as I can tell, all the issues (which, apart from that Bolton away match, have been relatively few) I have had, so far, have been external ones and nothing to do with my set up. The setup is no substitute for the real thing, but I am trying to make the most of the situation we find ourselves in.

All sounds too technical for me. I will wait for the Valley Parade turnstiles to open again!

I looked at that as an option but instead went down the Firestick route.

Thirty quid or so for the Firestick; stick it in a spare HDMI socket on the TV and sign it into the router. Give it a little time to download the latest software. Bingo! The Firestck has a built in browser - Blink Silk - so it was just a case of initiating the browser, logging onto the City website with my username etc (using the bowser's keypad is a bit clunky but it only needs doing the once) and iFollow appears on the TV as if by magic. I shouldn't say this but to date, it's been trouble free other than the very occasional buffering.

And as a bonus there are other things such as Youtube and Amazon Prime already included with the Firestick.

Same with me it works well. What I don’t understand I have Amazon built into my tv and yet the match won’t play unless I use the fire stick

How i view it every week, although i did have problems loggin on for the first time yesterday. Ended up using the iptv method. I don't use the silk browser for anything except ifollow so as soon as i click on the football is there. It really is simple and no messing with cables to and from laptops.

I don't know about your arrangement but I have an Amazon app on our TV but it doesn't appear to have a properly functioning embedded browser. And it's the browser which is needed to get access to the club's site for iFollow

Operating systems on smart tvs can be cumbersome whereas the firestick is very user friendly.

If on Windows, go to settings, select sound, when connected you will see drop down box with your tv listed there, just select and sound will come from the tv, When you disconnect your HDMI lead it will revert the sound back to your pc or laptop

    Seriously?
How difficult can it be to go to the City website, select iFollow >Latest match. If you've got a season ticket then you'll automatically connect to iFollow for home games. For away matches you just have to hit the subscribe button, pay the fee with PayPal or your card and then you're good to go.
You can do that on a smartphone, laptop, tablet or PC. You don't have to mess about connecting to a TV if you don't want to - although that's simple enough.

No. You may have to do a quick Google but it'll just be as simple as changing the output setting on the sound in the laptop.

It's sometimes enough to click on the volume control icon - bottom right of window - and see what speaker options you have.
I sometimes have problems if the HDMI plugs are not fully inserted. Make sure both are properly pushed in.

oh yeah - how will that work? Is it just like signing in for a home game if you're an ST holder?
