    Absolutely not.

I'm a Bradford City FC supporter. we play in claret and amber, and our home ground is Valley Parade. our nickname is the Bantams. I would not support a RB owned team with a changed name and potentially other changes.

We can't have a sponsor in the name.

Leipzig got round it with RasenBall - we could become RB City - Rahic's Bradford City.

    Devil's advocate.
I'm a Arab multi billionaire, I can eclipse the wealth of the Man City owners.
I'll buy Odsal, develop it to 75,000 stadia, move us there, can tempt the top players in the world with the contracts on offer.
Premier in four years, Euro- champions league finalists within 6years.
    Keep the name Bradford City
However, change the colours to Green and a whole new emblem of middle Eastern origin.
    Yea or Nay ??

I'd bite your hand off mate, being 70 and seeing us in the Champions League final before I turn my toes up would definatly sway me ;).

Well, at least it would be the most energetic RB we've had in a long time....

What identity do we have that's just unique to us?
If it was Red Bull it would have to be an acrobatic plane with wing walkers and people diving off the Sunwin Stand roof into a thimble of water, otherwise they wouldn't take note. :innocent:

Could you ask them if we can have a claret and amber away kit?

We have actually played in Voltage Cherry and (not) many fans actually bought a replica so green I don't think would be too far a stretch for some.

Totally disagree with you and think that is nonsense. I pine for the old VP, Hammers fans for The Boleyn, Chelsea fans for the "old" Chelsea but I do not believe they stop going. Time goes on, Man City fans in general do not pine for the "old" days at all nor do they see Man City today as not their club, it's just a different one, a successful one. I'll debate this with you in another thread if you like?

Well I'd say something like citizens per points gained, league played in, trophies won etc. Until Sky/PL the football league pretty much ran from top to bottom in line with the size of the clubs potential support. Bradford, a big City, has spent an unusual amount of time in the bottom 2 tiers compared to places half the size and smaller.

Now TV money has skewed things and proper big clubs like Villa and Leeds are in the 2nd tier, whilst Burnley & Bournemouth lord it over them, entirely due to TV cash. Yet in this thread, if Bradford City were offered a leg up, some wouldn't want it, it's mind boggling to me! Not bothered about the suffix "City", couldn't care less, as long as Bradford was in the title and we played in C&A everything else, reminders of our identity and generally useless and dismal past can go.

I am in my early 50's now, we were shit & playing in the basement division when I first started going........2019 and we'll have come a reet long way..............not.

    Agree with this.

I loved it when we were in the PL, getting to see some of the best players in the world at Valley Parade.

If we have to become RB Bradford, or have a bit of another colour in amongst the claret and Amber, to get the chance of that happening again then so be it.

Almost 4 years ago, I was sitting in a coach approaching Stamford Bridge when a Bentley convertible passed down the outside. One of the smug looking expensively dressed occupants signalled 9-0 with his hands. Inside the ground, noise even in the first 40 mins was coming from one end only and I went home thinking; they've taken the working man's game away from the working man. No thanks from me.

Very harsh on the achievements of both club's and Manager's.

Eddie Howe wasn't counting the millions in the bank when they were on -10 at the foot of league 2.

Likewise, Sean Dyche has always had Burnley punching above their weight.

Other clubs in the Championship had far bigger budgets.

I agree that those were an amazing 2 years ( well one anyway) but I think a lot of the enjoyment came from the fact that we were still "little Bradford City" and no one expected us to be there or stay their. Every Saturday was like a cup final. Not sure it would be quite the same again .

I wasn't being harsh because I was not alluding to their achievements, you missed my point completely.

Once in the PL, should a small club stay up and prosper, then Sky money manipulates the natural football order. I have no problem with money manipulating Bradford City into a bigger/better club and don't really care where it would come from because I am sure that without a "leg up" I will never see a successful Bradford City before I pop my clogs.
