    The Hearts fans I know were not impressed by Cathro's spell at Tynecastle. His interviews on television always sounded like someone who was out of his depth as a manager. A head coach needs to have motivational and personnel skills as well as knowing how to play 433, 442 etc.

    Please tell me this a joke? I cannot believe that somebody so inexperienced is thought good enough for our club. No problem with him coming as assistant or taking charge of the development squad as that is where is experience is.

    Know 2 Hearts fans well, have mentioned this rumour to them and they said there was a strong will at first for things to work for Ian at Hearts (young coach, new ideas etc) but once the going got tough he was floundering out of his depth. Didnt seem to have a plan B when things weren't working and eventually the fans turned and the atmosphere got more toxic.
    I know this is only a rumour but if this is an indication of the lesson Mr Rupp says he has learned then heaven help us!

    It doesn't take much in the way of money to make managers odds come down in these sort of markets. If he suddenly plummets to joint favourite then you know something might be happening. Bet if i stuck £50 on Elvis he would be about 4th or 5th favourite.

    If they don't want to move up the leagues, why did they panic and sack McCall when we were in free fall in January? Why did they try to get Grayson to sign a two and a half year deal in February? Why, when it came to the end of the season did they again try to get Grayson to commit to the club on a permanent basis? They might be very naive in their belief that they can do it on the cheap but I definitely think they want promotion.
