'Create as many chances for Cook'? Not at the matches I go to it isn't. We are.in the playoffs by being solid defensively, it's very rare we look like conceding more than the odd goal here and there. On the flip side it means creatively we are quite dour. From what I remember Cooks chance to goals ratio is the best in the league.

 

There's are times where we try to pick him out when he isn't the best option so it doesn't result in a chance, one that I can think of is not long before his 2nd against Hartlepool like the goal there was a 3 on 1 at the back post but instead we tried to pick Cook out with a cross which was deflected.

 

The lack of goals from defenders, particularly from corners and free kicks, can be put down to the absence of a decent dead ball specialist. Hughes has persisted with Smallwood on corners who either hits the first man or over hits it beyond the back post. Get someone who can actually hit the penalty spot consistently and they might have a chance. Add to that, Parkinson had a lot more corner routines than Hodges, who's supposed to be a specialist.

 

Rotherham 5 points from automatic promotion in that season after 38 games. Very similar to our position now, Rotherham did go up automatically that season so maybe we could still do it this season.

 

Stubbs to grab a winner v Orient?

 

The goals are definitely coming. Play hit the bar recently, Stubbs should have been given a goal on Saturday and generally we are winning more from starving set pieces.

Hopefully we've just saved them all up and we'll get half a dozen from the defenders between now and the end of the season.
