Hughes SACKED

Nathan Jones anyone? Would command a decebt wage but awful spells at Stoke and Saints have seen his stock drop.

Would be an ambitious appointment and his term at Luton cant be ignored.

 

I believe we are constitutionally required to give Stuart McCall the job every time we sack someone.

 

Smallwood should be happy as he'll be straight back in the side for McDonald.

 

I always want to see the words "awful spells" when we appoint someone ambitious.

 

Id take him to be fair but I think the Cowley brothers might get it.

 

We are L2 fella - those were much higher jobs. Managers without awful spells dont manage in L2.

If you have got a realitisc name to suggest who hasnt been a disaster somewhere im all ears....

 

As to the sacking of Hughes, it was probably inevitable but I don't believe it is the right way to run a club to sack a manager after a bad couple of months.

Anybody in any job has periods of ups and downs. If you don't give people the chance to work through the downs then you have no chance of a long term plan or vision coming to fruition.

This is shortsighted.

 

I understand, it just sounds terrible.

My suggestion: Leam Richardson.

 

After Rochdale away last season we were in prime position to push on and get automatic promotion, but for some reason the mentality seemed to be to just secure a play-off spot - which we almost blew.

In the play-offs we went 1-0 up at home then practically gave up, when we got back into the game in the second leg again the mentality was to stick.

Based on that, and his managerial career, it was clear to me by the end of last season Hughes was not the man to get us promoted, and he should have gone then. It is surprising how quickly it's completely gone to shit though.

 

All the ex players will now be linked. Beni Carbone, Dean Windass and so on.

Has Karl Robinson been linked to any jobs recently? He's a bit of a **** but generally plays nice football and has promotions before. Probably wouldn't drop to League 2 mind.

 

We have exhausted every type of manager apart from the foreigner so step forward Benni.

Maybe. But last time I'm sure the language was different, we talked about now moving to search for a manager without being in a rush etc. Don't know, just feels like they're making a point. We'll see

 

Really, the Banks substitution at Carlisle was far more shortsighted.
