Aren't there any EFL financial regulations that rule against this type of operation?

 

In the Champ you cannot post losses in excess of £39m in any 3 year period but I think they're about to change the rules from next year to a spending cap on wages at 70% of revenue. If you've seen stories about clubs selling their grounds for massive sums of money, it's usually because they need to offset some big losses although this practice is now banned.

As it stands, finances in the championship are an absolute disaster zone. The average income for a club without parachute payments is £15m and the average wage bill is £35m.

Yep Pride Park was valued at over£80m, and still is in the accounts of the owners but Derby new owner is trying to buy it for £25m

 

Bless em no more parachute payments and would expect their best players to leave, wish we were having our own success instead but I’m relieved we won’t be watching a West Yorkshire derby in the PL next season.

Boy the one on LOB was cast iron. The greatest wrong here, was Jon Moss did not review, after a VAR check. Why did Toffolo withdraw his leg with Colback. Leave it in, Moss gives a penalty.

Tbf to Town they have punched way above their weight this season a lot of their fans feared relegation at the start but once again they seemed to have picked up a good foreign manager

Punched above their weight?

They have received £42M, £32M and around £20M in parachute payments over the last 3 seasons. That's an extra £100M that 90% of the other clubs aren't receiving but somehow we're praising them for only spending %55 of turnover and trying to pretend they're over achieving?

Well from next year they get nothing so let's see how the turnover and over achieving part looks in 12 months.

 

Its their equivalent of us losing the L1 playoff final, but on a much bigger scale. We needed that win to retain several players, and really kick on. Same story for them.
