Yep .......... Hopkin has his hands tied, unless he can tap into the 'free agent' market.
January seems so far away, but if Hopkin can steady the ship until then - I reckon midtable is what we should all expect, and not top 6.
Should we get top 6 ? - WOW, a big Brucie bonus. :)

He did indeed, but he also brought Juanjo, Andy Tod and Gary Locke.

Reading the announcement looks like he's allowed to bring in his own staff, abbo and drury to help him out this week.

Whether that means Rahic has backed off or not remains to be seen

The squad isn't as good as people think but at least a new manager will not be able to be any worse than Collins was in his short stay, it isn't possible. This has to be the last throw of the dice for Rahic, his incompetence put way too much pressure on an unknown in Collins, this in turn has put Hopkin in a very difficult position. None of the players are of his choice and its going to take a long time to turn around a ship heading toward oblivion. Hopkin should have been the appointment made when Collins was announced, he was available and wanted a job in England. I'd like to know what has changed since the Collins appointment that has made Hopkin take the job. Was he ever offered the job after Grayson left or has Rahic changed his tune somewhat to allow Hopkin the free reign he would desire?

Don't disagree with your sentiment mate and perhaps credit was the wrong word to use. I guess what I'm saying is after making one monumental feck up un any job, the best thing you can do is hold your hands up and put it right quickly which is what they seem to have done

Pretty much so, RT. OK - So the team isn't 'good', but good enough for Lge 1 IMO.
City remind me of early Aldi and Netto shops ......... scatter gun approach, and lots of crap, poorly displayed.
Look at Aldi now ............ Similar stock, but some organisation and 'know how' has been applied. :)

The whole saga is extremely embarrassing.

Hopkin seems like a very good appointment though, so the owners deserve a little bit of credit there.

One thing is key though, THEY NEED TO LET HIM MANAGE AND STOP INTERFERING, otherwise it'll just be the same story again.

Rest assured agents will already be calling him! Whether any of those who are out of contract, any good and have any semblance of fitness is another question(s)

    We also have:
    • The same players
    • Possibly loan players who ‘have to play’
    • The owner located at Rawdon Meadows
    • History of rapid turn over of players
    • The current ‘Development model’ remains. (No mention of a rethink)
Agree about embarrassment and potential for Hopkin to build on his success north of the border.

He will get my support 100%

Cant see Hopkin taking the job unless he as or will have complete control over team selection etc, looks like lessons have been learnt......or may be not !

I wonder if Hopkin knows of any out of contract midfielders in the same mould as himself, as we are woefully short of quality in that department, unless he can transform Wright and Akpan into world beaters!!

They had that model for years in Europe Chris, it’s the BRitish public who were new to seeing pallets and big wire cages in supermarket aisles. Aldi and the other one ain’t half bad and they have checkouts manned most of the time! Can’t speak for Netto though. Tesco et al became TOO COMPLACENT. Serves em right imho!
