Because turning on people is the best internationally renowned way of making everything better isn't it. If only we had done that during the poor start to 98/99 we may never have been promoted, never been relegated, never gone bust, and might still be living the dream in league one.

Patience is a virtue you clearly don't own.

Shrugged your shoulders, forgotten about the wasted time and money and thought "all will be well". Maybe not.

Just interested to know what everyone's preferred line up will be?

Maybe I'm lacking imagination but DA doesn't seem to have many options!

With the players we've got that are currently fit we can't play two up top we only have one centre forward

However I suppose we could play

    ROD
    Threlkeld Paudie Kelleher Ridehalgh
    Songoo Cooke Watt
    Crankshaw Cook Gilliead

Oh wait that's pretty much the team we're playing except for Ollie in for Evans

Have to say unless you can suggest something better how can anyone moan about selection or playing one up top lol the craziest complaint of the season so far that Adams isn't doing something he isn't actually able to do lol

All fair comments. Certainly one or two of those should be featuring next match

Kelleher has had a few games now and hasn't really looked comfortable and settled. I'd play Staunton. He could do well and feature in the team during the season. If he does very well he could be a future first teamer or a saleable asset.

Same with FCD. We all know he's got stuff to learn still but last season he went from youth team to first team to representative football. That's impressive. Threlkeld hasn't impressed. Lack of solid performances as a minimum. Play Finn.

Central midfield seemed to have options but Watt seems slow, back to hollywood passes, Evans is OK to fill in next to him but he's not going to score goals from there or create assists so I'm not really sure who is the weak link at the moment. Maybe try Sutton and Evans?

Thing is, there needs to be changes and we need to find partnerships that work and get results. Our best partnerships this season have been lost due to injuries - Canavan and Paudie and Ridehalgh and Vernam - and those brought in so far haven't been able to strike up good enough partnerships to score goals and stop goals.

FCD is the one that puzzles me. Someone in the Ireland set up thinks he is good enough !

From what I saw of the lad whilst Threlkeld was out injured he'd be playing the RB role instead of Threlkeld.

I don't think either of them are good enough to be honest.

That's what this forum is all about, with regards Finn he's a kid learning the game he will make mistakes but he will learn and if he becomes a regular performing well the club could get a fee, which seems to be the Holy Grail at our club.

Playing young lads is romantic but Staunton and FCD could probably use a loan move

Our success at the start of the season was with two up front. Leaving Cook upfront on his own isn’t working. All the huff and puff in midfield doesn’t produce any attempts on target

blaming individual players doesn’t reflect on the poor team set up and selection. Unless Adams changes the line up it will be the same old same old.

a part of me thinks this is because he doesn't have a player good enough to go upfront as it stands.

In which case Adams has to carry the responsibility for that situation. Football is a contact sport and injuries to players are the norm. He built the squad expecting to play in a certain way with Cook and Angol as his principal strike pair. Angol already had a known issue with his hamstring and there wasn't a replacement for either of them in the building at the start of the season. It was a gamble on his part which hasn't paid off. Whether that was a budgetary issue is in a sense academic.

He really does see Angol as some kind of missing link doesnt he. His post match interview basically said he cant play the way he wants until he is back. I find that staggering to be honest.
Adams must have known about his injury record which begs the question why didnt he sign a similar back up knowing he was always going to get injured.
Angol has played about 150 league games in his career and hes 27 years old. Hes avergaing around 18-20 games a season. Why is our whole season defined by this one player? Bad management for me.
