Match Thread Home Vs Rochdale Sat 2nd Oct @3.00pm

We all know season tickets already count it’s irrelevant how many were there, however another 3000+ paying customers nice day for the club all round. Nearly had 3000+ every game must have made some nice money from match day tickets so far.

 

Chatting at the game today and I was saying that if further transfers are to happen, we need a player up front to challenge Cook, not compliment Cook.

He's a 1 in 4 player whom has not played the vast majority of games (in a season) since his non league days.

In Cook we have a decent enough player, without quality competition, we will likely be sat in L2 next season.

Hello bit pissed but based on my recollections from today's game are this

Holy crap Rochdale were bad at finishing I mean unbelievably bad we've been poor ourselves at times but nothing like the level of Dale's finishing today

Vernam was his usual self at times he's literally rolling in chances but his finishing is really poor

Gilliead got a goal lol

Pleased for Andy Cook to get a goal because he's definitely got ability and we need him to hit better form he had a couple of chances today but the defenders were able to block them or shut him down

That performance was exactly the same as some of the other games we lose or drew so there's no point in rejoicing in the win in the same way there's no point in histrionics every time we play like that and don't win

I think we are where we should be in the table and I think we are where we'll end up but we'll certainly look stronger when we get all our options back on the table

For what it's worth I expect our performances to be pretty consistent I think we'll perform at this same level all season long and that will be enough to finish top ten despite all the doomsayers

Watt for me pair up Songo'o and Sutton

 

I sit in the MR near the away fans so had a decent view and imo Vernam had got in front of his man before they both went down and that's the reason I'd have given it.

 

It took a while but much better now thank you

 

A welcome three points,but still plenty to do before we can seriously challenge the early pacesetters FGR.
Still to see us dominate a game from start to finish.
The amount of stray passes yesterday could've proved costly had Rochdale been able to find the net, their finishing was woeful.

 

Songo'o has been crap in midfield. Much better at centre half yesterday but I don't think he deserves to take either Watt or Sutton's place.

 

I think the Stevenage game we got very close to dominating the whole game.

 

Agreed me and my mate said he was our best player.

 

Sutton and Watt provide pace, tackling and drive the team forward, With Songo he sits more in front of the back four and we lose that momentum, Songo was impressive at CB though and looked to pair up well with Paudie

 

Watching Quest this morning Sutton got praised for his performance.

 

I certainly agree Watt was poor yesterday. Couldn’t pass wind 50% of the time.

 

Agree, not as clear as Sooty’s but still a pen.
