It's to be hope we don't go on another 5 game unbeaten run with those sort of comments, we've drawn 3 games out of 15 give your head a shake.

Bowyer worries about the opposition too much certainly he should respect them but we should play our own game.

At this moment in time he has very little choice of his starting 11 pick themselves. and that has been the case most of the season, I'm sure he fancies our lads every game I think it's a mutual respect for the opposition but I'm not sure he worries about the opposition.

People used to say that about Parky and McCall, and every other manager before that. It’s a nonsense comment. Every club from Real Madrid to Rotherham study the opponents, and try find the weaknesses to find the best way to win. Bowyer is no different than every other manager around in that respect.

I wouldn't have had a problem with taking Devine off for McCartan tbh. In fact, I'd have started that way, I'm just saying that I think its dismissive to label Bowyer a 'bottler'. I think its reasonable to believe he looked at how the game was panning out in the second half and that he didn't want to disrupt our game plan. No one looked especially tired, we were on top, only one team looked like scoring. If he'd changed it and we'd lost our rhythm, he'd have been criticized too. You can't really win as a manager.

You win as a manager. Go for it when on top. We all know that the key thing in football is when a team is on top and controlling the game that they have to score. I felt we had a lot of the ball but didn't do much with it. Think we tested the keeper twice.

I do believe Bowyer is a bottler but I would like to think he would of learnt from the defeat to Vale.

As this post is in the Port Vale thread I assume the above quotes are with regards to that game, first half was very poor I don't think many would disagree, then Port Vale throw us a lifeline by giving away a penalty, Vaughan does the honours and equilises, most saying at half time we must play better in the second half.
The second half we dominated and there is only one team going to win the game, I thought at the time last 15 minutes lets have fresh faces, and it was not until I heard Bowyer say why he didn't make substitutions that I though, you know he's right, why run the risk of bringing someone on when we were playing so well, if we had gone on and scored the winner no one would have questioned Bowyer, but because he didn't and Port Vale scored the winner taking all 3 points he's a bottler.
Here are the stats for the game we had 20 hots 6 on target so some one must have kept those shots/headers out and 20 shots against Port Vales 11 sort of backs up we were on top with regards shots and possession, although I do accept possession means nothing without the "end product" goals.

Why run the risk? They was no risk. We were on top and needed to make sure we scored.

Looking at them stats highlights my case even more. We had 20 shots only 6 on target. I recall about only 2 decent shots in the second half. The free kick and Akpan's effort.

Devine, Akpan and Cooke are safe players and we need a more attacking player that would of been more dangerous in the final 3rd.

Wonder why Man City, Liverpool, Utd, Spurs, Chelsea even bother having subs. Seriously mate!

The loss to Vale was a poor defeat but a massive wake call to Bowyer, the players and the fans. Do lose your bottle! The league is mighty poor!

@Bronco@Bronco lets agree to disagree on this one.. we've a big game to concentrate on and make sure we get 3 points from now on Saturday!

Don't want to hear excuses on Saturday.

Bradford City as a club makes far far too many excuses for failure that's one of the reasons we find ourselves in div 2!

That's up their on the @Fordy117@Fordy117 guff-o-meter. The ONLY reason we are in L2 is down to a certain individual and his shenanigans whilst at the club. Clue the initials are ER.
Remind us of the excuses rolled out this last week by the club?
