No, I think we're a bang average L2 side. And we'll end up bang average mid table because we have too many inconsistent and mediocre players. In the end, it doesn't really matter what tactical formation you favour or put out, if you haven't got at least five or six players who regularly check out with a 7 and above every game. Week in, week out, most of our teams on the pitch bang out fives and sixes, with the odd 7 or 8 now and again. They're o.k. to not that bad L2 players.

Totally agree. Not great, not awful, weak in areas, stronger in others.

But still a lot better than we were in December, when we really were poor

T&S have a huge summer ahead. They have to work their nuts off with Turnbull in getting the right players in for next season - and for me, we need six or seven strong first eleven starters. There's only Cooke, Cook (if we can keep him), Canavan, Sutton and possibly Hornby I'd have as regulars next season. Forget about signing squad players. We have enough here already with Staunton, Cousin-Dawson, Scales. Sikora et al, and those still on contract, Vernham, Crankshaw, Watt, Rowe. All of the rest? Ta-ra and good luck in the rest of your careers.

Agree, and credit to T&S for pulling us out of that shite. But...they've got a very different

I don't think Ryan has been particulary impressed by recent performances, especially last night's game. I also think, based on Ryan's comments that Mark Trueman, having watched a replay of the match, now see's the game in a completely different light to the one he portayed in his post-match interview on Radio Leeds.

If the manager has to watch a video afterwards to work out what was going on in the game that might explain a lot.

In fairness Dubois, the post match interviews are often emotive and perhaps he was just trying to keep the team positive or just didn't want to unload on the players. Football managers in general are now often very cautious about their players in the press, probably due to the amount of power players hold these days.

I agree it was a poor interview but I'd be very surprised if he wasn't just trying to be bullish and actually believed the performance was more than acceptable.

I think that was the suggestion Ryan made, that the manager hadn't really had much time to properly reflect on the performance at the time of the interview.

    Very true.

And whilst there's two ways of looking at this, Parky's promotion team only scraped into the playoffs late in the day. So, given how massively superior the 2013 team was compared to the current crop, one can only assume it was a harder division to get out of back then. Which makes it all the more frustrating that T&S seemed to take the foot off the pedal when we were (very) comfortably safe.

Yes, I'm still pee'd off with the negative tactics in recent games.

And he also had far better players in the squad than we have at present.

And Parky was given time to build that squad from a very low base let’s hope the same happens now
