For some of our fans to predict a defeat at home to Salford and be concerned that Morecambe at home could be difficult both within a few days is the lowest I can remember us being in the last 60 odd years as a City fan...

 

We shouldn’t stop being ambitious and accept lower division football because of our history. Wigan athletic spent most of the last century in non league but we don’t see them saying that’s where their meant to be. We spent from 1985 to 2004 - 19 years -with 13 of them in the top two divisions and that’s where we should aspire to be.

Have we forgotten that most of us thought that our business in the January transfer market was the best for ages. The City Time Line shows more downs than up's..like many in the EFL divisions..but we survive.Some guy with pointy shoes coined the slogan 'Believe' and I think we should welcome challenge with confidence. Positivity is healthier than ruminating and we are re-energising as a Club with a fresh approach.Tuesday is all about answers.

Danny Rowe has been a bull-necked, try anything confidence player for most of his career. I'm still amazed that it took so long for League clubs to sign him up. What he's already shown for us, is that he's a force of nature. Let's hope we can relish the last years of his career at VP.

Until a certain David Whelan got involved in 1995 they were a division three team, the only time we've had anyone with that sort of clout as owner was in the Richmond/Rhodes era, but your correct we should never stop hoping the next season will be our season.
A win on Tuesday night could get us back on a run with plenty of points to play for and for players to make a statement for next season.

 

Hope the game's on, and hope Rowe's back - we're going to find out pretty quickly how important he is to the team after watching one-and-a-quarter games without him. He looks to be a really calm figure on the pitch, very confident, and makes the difference in the opposition half.

Shouldn't be the be-all and end-all, but even the best teams can struggle for results without the players on hot form.
