I’m favouring he will give the “non playing” half of the squad a go, minus the injured or injury “recovering” ( Sooty / Oscar)

The “ main” playing half will be putting the miles in after the defeat?.

The club think differently (see Sparks on that podcast with the Peterborough bloke who agreed with him). A run in the EFL trophy can be very lucrative and is very much the one to concentrate on as a lower league club (once in a lifetime runs like 2012/13 excepted).

 

I just stated what two people who actually run football clubs said, they were both adamant that it should be taken seriously.

 

The whole competition in its current format is an utter farce that has little to no relevance.

Here's how it could muster a bit more interest:

A) Kick off is usually at 7pm - a 7.45pm kick off would get more people through the turnstiles.

B) Only the lower tier of the Main stand is open. Granted, the demand isn't there to open any more sections up, but if there was at least a choice it may garner some added interest. Open the lower Kop also.

C) Let kids in free to all group games/early rounds with a paying adult. Incentives like this will encourage City fans to bring their kids. Market it properly too.

D) Consider scrapping the group games altogether and revert back to a straight knock-out from Round 1. We don't need the extra games against West Brom under 21s.

 

I don't know, surely this is where we see our new loan striker signing coming from after he scores 3 against us.

 

Pompey made a million off it, I’m no fan of it but money like that would be huge for the club. FA Cup you are relying on the draw and getting through a few rounds first to have hope of making half that.

 

I don't think not being able to sit in your regular seat is the thing that is putting people off.

 

Get rid of the under 21 teams and increase the prize pot

Sometimes in life, euthanasia is the best policy. This cup is the perfect example of this. Kill it off now and let clubs concentrate on the important things in life

 

Message to you and Rod, see today’s T&A which underlines my earlier comment and supports what Ryan and McAnthony have already said. Big money in this.

 

Money or not. Its a pointless competition ruined by becoming a training camp for under 21s. It needs to reform or go.

 

That may be a very valid point but whilst it’s here there is money to be made so either play to win (the money aspect) or have no financial regrets “if only”. I think the thinking I referred to earlier indicates play to win mentality ( the money aspect).

 

For heavens sake..we are running a business and have to take EVERY opportunity to increase income. Therefore should be taken seriously.
