Lavery was a menace, when he went off we lost our edge.

Robinson I thought was a workaday forward, didn't make a difference, but didn't do anything wrong. But Lavery WAS making that difference early on, and it's a real shame he had to go off. Cook and Robinson just didn't link up at all.

Cook should have put us 2-0 up, but this is the first time we've looked like a threat from corners - which is really pleasing to see - Paudie had a header saved, and it looks like a lot of work has gone into that. All last season we were terrible at set pieces, despite the deliveries being okay.

The referee was garbage, FGR were okay, we were okay overall, but I can't help feeling that if Lavery hadn't got injured we'd have had too much for them...

Laporte at Man City and the West Brom defender all got straight reds for exactly what the FGR player did by bringing down Sutton (last man/through on goal) Where do they find these refs? He was clearly unfit as his shirt was two sizes too small and clearly not cut out to be refereeing a professional game.

 

A fair summary of the game, I would add that if FGR are the team to beat in this division then as @Fordy117 has pointed out, this league is shite! They are just a team that can take the lead and then manage the game where as teams like us don’t seem to be able to do this.

But Jonny Evans for Leicester v Arsenal only got a yellow for an identical challenge to the Laporte one.
And the Leicester game was reffed by Michael Oliver who they rate as the best ref in the Premier league
There are poor refereeing performances in all leagues.
Ours just chose to merge all his shit games for the season in to 90 minutes.

 

I agree with you but overall the referee was poor.

 

He was cramping up Bronco, he did last week at Swindon but carried on after treatment.

 

To be fair our defence plays well for most games but concedes off one or two chances. Jamille Matt didn't get a sniff yesterday. Our problem like the majority of this season is out inability to convert gilt edge chances. And this keeps coming back to bite us. Andy Cook has to put the first half chance away.
