What makes you say that? He was all over the ball when we had the majority of possession. Wouldn't say he's been any worse than anyone else in midfield/forward areas.

 

They're bypassing midfield with long balls when they get the ball not out playing us. If we were more commanding at the back and picking up the second balls we'd be OK.

 

I'd be tempted to get Cook on for Clarke at HT

 

Canavan for AOC.

 

Southend and Grimsby both losing. 8 points and 2 games in hand on the bottom 2.

Thats all that matters. Any other talk is hopeful

Agree he's been poor first half. Get some muscle up front to support Rowe

 

Crying out for pace, said it the other day and got shot down but I’ll say it again. Clarke offers zero out there.

 

Hopefully a second half like Southend, we aren’t going to dominate any game from start to finish. We are where we are on merit, just be relieved we are looking safer by the week.

 

Its not been poor, but its not been great either. We need to up it second half.

The disappointing thing is that after getting the early goal, we haven't imposed ourselves on the game and kicked on

 

Tough match we look decent on the ball but not as solid at the back as usual. They look a decent side and you can see why they have had some good results

 

To be honest, it's not the main area of weakness.

Similar game to Tuesday - take the lead, start lumping it and eventually concede. Lucky to be level really, we need to keep the ball much better because we're losing it too often when we go long. Clarke having a really poor game and evans anonymous.

They’ve been the better side so far. Keeping the same side 3 games running is taking a chance. Clarke and Evans again starting slowly. I’d bring Cook on for Clarke and play Rowe in behind.

 

Cooke has played well and FCD has done alright but the others as a unit have been poor. Desperately need pace upfront and Cook ain't gonna bring that. Badly miss Novaks Workrate upfront.

 

Think Southend have a problem, currently 4-0 at half time to struggling Port Vale.

Guthrie hasn't scored for them though, so no change there.
