Best of the lot, years ago, we close to or top, home to bottom ( ish) Huddersfield. They beat us 1-0 with a worldly from Ian Banks. We signed him as a result…… he was crap!
There are many, you are right.

Nov 1991, Swansea came to VP having not scored an away goal all season, yes this is in November!
    And they scored 6

    Crawley.
Poor finishing. Should have been 3 up before they scored.
    Swindon.
    Robbed by refereeing decision.
    Rochdale.
Lost our heads after another poor refereeing decision.
    Mansfield.
Lapse in concentration by team allows overload.

    That leaves Barrow and Stockport.
Both teams well organised at the back and scored 1st against us.
So for me only 2 games where you can blame the manager for not adapting the team to what was in front of us
The rest the players are at fault or the officials.
But I will say again, horses for courses very much this season.
    Wimbledon, Barrow, Stockport.
    Played twice and not beaten.
    Harrogate, Salford, Stevenage, Tranmere.
Played twice and won both .
    Nearly did double over Mansfield.
There's a pattern of teams we thrive against and teams we struggle against.
    Why is the big question?
We drew against Doncaster 0-0 cos they shut up shop with 10 men.
But we dominated possession and chances.
They will come and play against us Saturday which will suit us.
It's the Colchesters and Crewes that we need to adapt and find a way of beating as we didn't score against both in the early reverse fixtures.

I still think 2000/2001 in the old First division takes some beating.Stockport won just 6 games in a 46 game season and only one away from home.
One of the 5 home wins was against us.

And their only away win all season was a 4-2 victory at……..

I remember that - John Williams scored a hattrick, I remember our fans applauded him off. He ran us absolutely ragged. He was the same fella that won Saint & Greavsie 100m sprint challenge.

Probably the only professional player who played for six teams that ultimately (not whilst he was there) got relegated out of the football league with only one (Exeter) returning. The Kiss of Death.

I dont mind teams shutting up shop or changing tactics to stop us playing to our strengths...... what I cant abide is no shots on target mularkey...... nil shots against a average to goodish team.......... baaba

    My mistake.
2001/2002 season. First season after relegation from Premiership.

Since we beat Grimsby Town in April 2021, we have won 12 times in 43 home league games.
    Shocking stat!

Which was the year we went unbeaten all season at home???
Since then it’s been a downward spiral.

Feels like it, it's a rare occasion walking up VP after a win ....

I can hardly believe that stat, but yet I can. We hardly ever win. I was optimistic at the start of the season, but that is because we won a few at the end of last season. New manager and team, and I thought here we go it’s our turn, but I was also strangely anxious at the same time.
It really is soul destroying losing at home all the time, because even the draws have been excruciating.

I’m sure we did either under PP in 2016 or McCall the season after.
