Come on, a modern day business who can’t or won’t make communication part of their business plan is going to fail. You have to grasp social media, as well as the more traditional communication ie paper, tv etc.,

If you want to engage effectively with your customers/fans then the above is absolutely essential. If the owners can’t or doesn’t have time then there has to be effective links established to make sure it happens. I fully accept you can’t do everything yourself, but you have to trust others to do that work.

 

And why wouldn’t he be able to give a reason?

Even if it’s a brief statement saying “We have spoken to a number of candidates and had hoped to be in a position to announce a successor to Simon, but this has sadly not been possible. Conversations are still ongoing with our preferred candidate OR we will continue our search and would hope to have some positive news by the end of the week/fortnight”.

Giving nothing away as such, but at least we’d know what was happening

Which is fair enough. If nothing happening, then no need to report it. My sole point is that they saw this area as something they needed to improve and indications show nothing has changed.

 

I'm not saying it's been perfect but I'd argue it's been much better. No more having unnecessary digs at fans, or making bold statements such as splashing the cash then failing to back it up. We were in for Otzumer and this time, Rahic wasn't in the T and A talking about it's shows ambition and getting our hopes up in the process like the Kieffer Moore debacle. He also gave an extended interview with Bantamsbanter squashing any rumours when previously they have been allowed to grow and get out of hand. We've also recieved regular updates on the pitch which prevents one of the ITK's making up rumours such we're no longer sorting it out due to Rahic spending more on youth development etc. Additionally, our fanbase were in meltdown after that T and A article was published and the club were quick to deny the accusations and published a brief statement saying that we are happy with where we are at etc. We are never going to get perfection, but since the season ended its not been the absolute disaster it was previously.

 

When have I moaned about everything? Stop trying to lump all negative comments together and attribute to one poster. You did the same with @Ricc (when clear evidence shows he made some positive views too) and now you’re trying it with me.

I agree with you on most of that. Edin and Stefan are quite within their right to try a different approach. I just hope the scouting from Abbott and the ‘committee’ is good enough to bring in the players needed to make it work.

However, one point I will raise in relation to your post. You asked for clarification of where Edin has ‘interfered’. There are rumours around what happened with young Hendrie and other rumours around McMahon. But the one that we know to be a fact is that, despite Stuart and his coaching team ALL saying Barr wasn’t good enough, McCall turned up to training one day and in walked the player. If that’s not interference, what is?

 

There does seem to be an ordily momentum with proceedings which is surprising

Agree. Didn’t Abramovich sack Jose the 1st time around, despite bringing success, because of the style of play? Chairmen/Owners do influence styles of play. If a club have a preferred style, they would appoint their coach on that basis.

Everton, this season, is another example. Big Sam delivered results for them, but was let go in the summer because their owners wanted a different playingstyle. I believe Pulis has been dismissed a couple of times for the same reason (albeit wrong decisions, those decisions were made by the club based on their ‘plan’)

Where in this morning’s T&A have the club given an update? The writer (Crowther) says “it is understood...”, but there is absolutely nothing in that (or last week’s report) from the club..!

OK, yer, that could be a good example. I'm not looking for a definitive list per se, what I'm interested in challenging though is these general statements that keep getting peddled out every time someone (not been aimed at you, cheers for replying) doesn't like something. Something happens someone doesn't like and it becomes another example of some general, random behaviour when it's actually the only time that event has happened.....Oh Edin always interferes, he makes all the decisions etc.

He does some things wrong the same as all of us probably but I don't feel it's right to come to make generalisations and then scramble around for examples that fit into a certain way of thinking.
