Not always the most technical, but one who could level the playing field and make us competitive even against world class defenders on his best days.

We're struggling to find form and realistically based on the last few performances, we were never going to win this game. Trying to keep some consistency made sense and I honestly believe that Cook may not have been as badly injured as reported. It might well have been Hughes keeping it out of the side longer to relight his fire so to speak, and it worked. Pattison was surprising but he's fine though ok by the looks of it. In my view the cup was a bonus but we have to get out of this league this season. If we do, nobody will look back at this game as a missed opportunity to get to round 4.

 

We were playing a very good side if we had pressed them they would have made hay.
But we must continue to play on the front foot as of last week from now on to progress in the league

 

The way this draw has opened up, it's a real shame we didn't beat Boro ! Exeter away & Port Vale away ..............

 

Wouldn't have made a blind bit of difference. We'd have been out comfortably at Exeter anyway

 

Who knows ? Stranger things have happened

 

We wouldn't have played Exeter. We wouldn't have been the same ball number as Middlesbrough as the ball numbers from the Tuesday games were decided in alphabetical order, we would have had Everton away then if we won that Fulham at home.
