I don’t know, I’m not party to conversations in the boardroom. Whatever the reason, the club have decided they need the option of placing away fans in block E, until they reply with clarification we’re all speculating

    Good news (I think)

Ryan has just forwarded your messages - none of the previous ones have come through to me so I can only apologise.

I can confirm there are no plans to convert Block D or E into an away‑supporter‑only area.

We have put in a new gate to allow us to adjust the segregation line in the Midland Road Stand and give us increased flexibility with housing away allocations.

However, I want to reassure you that:

    • This would only ever happen by exception, not as standard practice.
    • Supporters would be contacted well in advance, and we would work closely with anyone affected to ensure suitable alternative seating — particularly where accessibility or mobility needs are involved.
Hope that allays some of your fears and apologies for what you thought was me ignoring you.
Have a great weekend and hopefully 3 points tomorrow
    Kind Regards
    Paula

So to summarise, be prepared to move but we'll give you a decent notice period if it happens

Refer to the email reply posted above.
The club has no plans to make D or E block away areas only but they’ve installed new gates to allow them to do so as and when they deem it necessary.

I would think that as this is about the away supporters and trying to maintain the clubs obligation around numbers
If the away fans number slightly more than the two blocks F and G , the club then have to open the Dallas stand incurring costs. If this is only say a few hundred , then maybe the club are not making any money on those tickets.
The stadium configuration is not designed to maximise full potential revenue
Something the club needs to do to progress, especially without a sugar daddy pouring money in
They are in a difficult position if they want to maintain our momentum and in football money talks

Ah, the email reply that you'd not seen when making the posts. Riiiight.

Anyway, let's seen what next season brings. If I'm moved for a league game I'll bow down to your superior knowledge and apologise. However, I probably wouldn't be holding my breath if I was you.

Im not sure what you’re arguing about? Not once did I say I had superior knowledge. The 8 page debate was whether away fans would be permanently housed in block E. That’s now been clarified by the club but they’ve still said it’s possible for some games that fans may need to move. But anyhow, if you do need to move, there’s thousands of empty seats pal, take your pick.

I'd go as far as saying that the blocks affected in the MR are some of the best seats in the ground. Vacant seats in the upper tier of the main stand or in the extreme ends of other stands don't compare favourably with those particular blocks in the MR. This is beginning to develop into a similar situation we had when we played Carlisle in the play-offs and the club decided to evict ST holders in the MR to accommodate away fans in excess of what is required under the EFL's own seating regulations.

We are now into ST season. The club should be going further with their explanation of what might happen than they've already done and before existing ST holders commit themselves. In short and for example, does the club expect all those vans who are to be moved in MR to be trying to reserve seats in those areas of the ground where nobody currently wishes to purchase a season ticket? Alternatively, maybe they should consider making the entirety of other parts of the ground unreserved for these exceptional situations and we all share the risk of sitting somewhere else just so that the club can provide some of the best seats in the ground to other clubs' fans? That would seem fair from the MR's fans perspective!

Let me real here, the club aren't spending money on extra gates and the like if they didn't think there would be need to use the extra sections of the midland road in the future. I can see the clubs perspective in trying to utilise Valley Parades seating capacity but if I'd bought a ticket in any of the sections mentioned I'd be pretty pissed off if I'd been asked to move for a league game. Cup games not so as these are not secured by a season ticket.

Does anyone but the club know what spare seating there is in Midland road
How people this might affect and the potential for moving to other seats nearer the kop

Nobody knows would be my view. The club should have a plan ready to go, and the fans given ample time to book an alternative seat at the very least. They would also know areas and seats around the ground that can be used. Which is why they will want ST holders to let the club know if they are not using their seat from next year. It is unacceptable to just leave MR fans to find a seat them selves. Plus I think they should be compensated the full price of their ticket on those days where they are obliged to move.

That's nail on the head RT.

Given we can easily accommodate more than the required amount of away fans there simply shouldn't be a situation that arises for a league game where the ST holders can't sit in their own seats. Especially given that the home ends on the bigger occasions would likely sell the available seats anyway.

For cup and p/o games then I can absolutely agree with the club about maximising revenue and I'm happy to move elsewhere.

There are, take away the away allocation and season tickets and you still have over 5000 seats to sell, admittedly in the majority top of main and NW corner

I’m in D block in MR and been there for donkeys years. One of the best views as you say. I’d be in absolute uproar if they kick me and my mate out of our seats. Cup matches are a different kettle of fish.
