You could ask for Holywell ash lane to be closed to enable any expansion, but i doubt this council would be very open to it, they think far too much about the 200/300 or so residents that live near the stadium than the 20,000 that turn up on match days
I bet the cost would be touching £5 million. Working in the building trade, i have seen the stupid increases in material cost this past few years, way above any inflation rate. Glass alone went up 30% in the past 18 months

some seats have been removed from the Bradford end, the full block on the bottom near the tunnel, capacity is just over 1500

Now that is a good idea !!!!
When the midland Road stand first opened home fans didn’t even get block E.

Even if there are only 1,500 seats in the Bradford end, 1 block in Midland Road at a low estimate is at about 550 seats including seat loss for gangways etc. I think it's 26 rows by 28 wide but where the exits and at the back are seats are removed so a massive underestimate is 1 block of 7 block stand that holds 4,500 is 600.

They constantly say 1,100 or so tickets based on the last two blocks which confirms any estimate. So all 2k could easily fit in Bradford end + 1 block.

It's unfortunate as the ground will never looked finished.

Stockport put a full break down of the allocation when they announced their ticket sales. TL Dallas is 1,595 so it leaves us needing to give 405 to get the 2,000 which is approx 2/3s of a block so realistically we will give them block G which will give slightly more than 2,000 with half block F as segregation effectively giving home fans an extra block compared with now.

Whenever we do decided to go ahead with the changes I think it will depend on what the reason for the change is and what our priority is, if it is getting away fans down to 2,000 and we don't mind where they are then this is the best option. If we want our fans behind both goals then we need to go down the route of splitting Midand Road in roughly half.

Personally, I enjoy big away followings at games and I'm disapointed to see restrictions brought in if the home side still have thousands of empty seats.

Grimsby Town and Chesterfield reduced their away allocations but they sold the seats to home fans who bought them. It's tinpot clubs who reduce allocations but have thousands of empty seats for a "competitive edge that are tinpot.

    Going on Stockport’s allocation, 2,762.
    That’s more than enough, surely?

So why are we even contemplating moving our own fans and upsetting folk who’ve been your backbone for years.

i think its to give them 3 blocks in Midland road and thus open the Bradford end to home fans on a permanent basis.

Where are these 1000’s of empty seats you speak of? Have you checked the current availability for season tickets? Unless up in the gods there are only single seats left.

Never been in myself, but apparently the view from the top tier is really good.
You could offer incentives, with there being no alcohol, maybe even make it more of a family stand.
We are not there yet, but further progress could see proper sold out signs going up
Personally i would rather have city fans at both ends of the ground
Without the chance of expansion, i would expect the club to be looking at all options.

Exactly. We’ve tried that numerous times before and it’s died a death.

Anyone remember the fan group “The City Gents” ?

Doncaster to name just one . It’s childish imho, yet if you look at pics of their games the home sections are sparsely populated . Seemingly they don’t need the money , nor a trip to Wembley seemingly now .

The view from the upper tier is fantastic , it’s a bit like being on the pitch itself ( compared to the rest of the ground). The lower tier is abysmal unless you are in the front couple of rows .

Sat in the lower tier once - terrible.
    Upper - not tried.

I get the sentiment of keeping behind both goals for the home fans but I can’t imagine ST’s selling, would only ever be POTD - give it to away fans and let ST’s fill up MR.

Feel free to get a ST in there Andy but I wouldn't. In fact, if I couldn't get a decent alternative view with friends and family I'd likely not bother and just do as many aways as possible.
