Appreciate ad revenue required to keep thr site going, but when its a complete, intrusive overlay advert of what you are trying to view then that just spoils the user experience. Whoever making these decisions needs to think again.

Sorry but come on. Halliday has just signed a new deal! Why would GA sign that off if he didnt want him?

You need to cough up a £10 or more if you are feeling generous then like magic ads dissapear. I think that is extremely generous of the site manager who actually does this in his spare time but it does require cash.

Thats fair enough, didnt know that. But sometimes you cant close the ads - which isnt good practise....that was my real gripe.

Agree there are some positives that have already been mentioned on here but despite his protestations to the contrary (which I think were partially in self defence), if GA honestly thinks that was a template for the future we are in deep s...

That was a very weakened Grimsby team who at strength many expect to be near the bottom so to say we deserved to win is hardly an endorsement. But as well as Smallwood covered last Saturday he was a nightmare last night - and this in front of a defence that terrifies me (mainly the permanent signings ls we have made beginningwith B). At least this is not just on GA, Gent the Great and Sparks...we can now add Sharp to the brainstrust!

As i say there are positives and the key is getting the right blend further forward - so many positive options but can GA get the best out of them. Hopefully we can put on a positive display on Saturday

Have a look in the help section for how to do it. If you have a PayPal account very easy. You pay your £10 for a year. Well worth it.

Very flat performance last night that almost had me nodding off watching it, about as good as watching a friendly.

We need a dominant centre half still, I worry for us when we come up against a big physical team.

Too many changes last night for my liking. I could perhaps understand resting Pattison though.

Don't know what to make yet of our new defensive recruits. I thought they looked comfortable on the ball, but the defending for their goal was shocking, especially Byrne.

Halliday looks unfit and has been poor in the first 2 games.

Kavanagh anonymous again, and if he is still here, Young surely has to start on Saturday.

Oliver was very poor and did absolutely nothing to warrant us keeping him, getting rid though will be difficult without paying him off.

One bright spark was Odour last night.

More tweeking required than GA reckoned on I think, unless he is being held back by Rupp's lack of funds.

Ps just one minor comment - love him to bits but I don't think big Sam was at his best in the penalty shoot out, seemed to be uncertain and just fell over rather than a focused intent.

Probably faced penalties from players who he had no idea what they were going to do as never taken them before!

A bit like the MK Dons game, I don't think we were bad but then I don't think I've seen anything good about us yet either. At times we moved the ball around but again lacking that middle runner with Pattison, something that doesn't help Smallwood at all. Already looks to me that Pattison is pivotal to us going forward, without him there's a lack of movement in the centre. Notable that Kavanagh struggled again, he looks a bit unsure as to what his role is and the back three didn't instill me with confidence, Shepherd looked handy at times. Oduor arguably our best on the night and his display probably earn him more first team minutes.

Excuse me............. four subs on with half an hour to play (with injury time) is hardly late. Show me another match where a manager made four changes before the 70th minute ? If 25 plus minutes isn't enough time for the likes of Sarcevic, Pointon & Young to impact a game then you might as well not bother.

We've also seen from Halliday's long range strikes that he is a worthy penalty taker.

The only point you make that changes the game is Smallwood missing the penalty. None of the others change anything.

GA said he was happy with the performance to the media.... i bet he said different things in the dressing room. Very flat, little tempo, little urgency. People who were given the chance really didn't take it apart from spells from Oduor, especially in the last 20.

Think it's time to sit Kav.

Well I hope Alexander learnt from last nights performance with regards most of the stating changes, last night defeat IMO has to be put down to his wholesale changes, unless he wasn't bothered about us going through or not most could see at half time the players weren't showing any signs they will get a starting place against Salford, the two up front showed little with regards them causing the Grimsby defence much trouble, Walker was a shadow of the player he was at end of last season, and the least we talk about the likes of Byrne, Baldwin, Richards the better.
I saw little from Grimsby that makes me believe we can't go there at the end of the month and win but last nights overall performance was not acceptable.

GA didn't make Smallwood captain. He was captain from the day he walked in two years ago. Changing manager's very rarely results in changing captain. He's not ideal, but who else in that team could be captain, I can only think of Halliday (not forceful enough), Sarcevic (unlikely as he's too new) or Stubbs (who isn't playing). We let the only other natural captain (Platt) leave.

So we hardly have any leaders then? If so we will struggle then.

Smallwood is a poor captain for us. He thinks he’s Gerrard. Why he thinks he is always the one to step up and take dead ball situations is beyond me because in them situations he is bloody shite.

There’s those words that have cropped up regularly over the last couple of seasons -tempo and urgency.

Still on my holidays so I only saw the MK Dons game on the telly and didn’t see any of last nights game but a lack of tempo and any urgency have been habitual problems for too long now.

It’s only early but I thought Kavanagh might push on from his half decent spell at the end of last season but it appears he’s struggling to do even the basics that are being asked of him.

Fair point, I was thinking Sam's a big lad they'll likely hit them low as it's a long way to go down...Sam is definitely a good keeper but maybe pens are his weakness....

    Really?

He’ll be a key man for us this year IMO. Really rate him. Puts himself about. With Young seemingly off, Kav will be starting every week?

didnt watch last night but not interested in how our reserve team got on really.
