Grayson and Stephen Warnock

That's the one, had some money spent on it and now far batter than it was back in the day when used to do my stig of the dump impressions on the tip.

 

I have to admit that I was very much in favour of getting Grayson in, based on his past record. What I didn't know what that since he left Preston he'd turned into a fat negative fecker whose tactics made Parky look like Pep.

 

Obviously it is not the all star singing and dancing training facilities that they have at St George’s Park, but from what I have seen it is good. The grass training pitch looks like a bowling green, apparently we have a 3G plastic pitch for when the weather is poor. Gym inside with physio’s facilities etc., what more do you need. We are still in League 1. Yes it would be better if it was attached to VP, less traveling etc., but our training facilities are very good. Grayson can say what he likes, is he still waiting on the call from the Championship?

 

Grayson isn't an idiot. He didn't want to work under Rahic's model, but he knows that more and more clubs are now getting with the times and moving towards similar methods of working - so if he wants to be considered for jobs he can't be seen to be a dinosaur. So he's focused his reasons on something else.

 

Plus a swimming pool.

 

How does anyone know Grayson didn't like Edin's model? Perhaps he just thought little of Edin's ability?

 

I remember seeing some interview where Edin said that the fact that the training facilities are attached to a school is something they value. That we can offer academy players a more rounded education and boarding (I think) is our USP compared to lower league teams. I can't remember where I saw him talking about it, though. Could have been on a couple of things he did for Eurosport over here in Germany.

 

Remember reading this but couldn't say where, definitely a good incentive though as we look to improve the youth system. Don't see any reason our training facilities aren't good enough for league 1, probably need some improvement in the championship but for where we are we have much greater priorities

 

With the signings I wonder what he thinks now.

 

Use of a pool too, pleasant surroundings and catering facilities on site. I'm not really sure how facilities could be much better, or what difference it would make if we owned the training ground!

 

The surroundings are far superior in my view to anywhere in Manningham. Lovely countryside to look at. Plus there is the Stansfield just opposite for after training, spent many a happy hour in there

 

My local school football Derby was Lilycroft v Green Lane, and if I recall right, played a couple of under 15 schools quarter final games on it.

 

Surely our facilities are a bit crapper than Championship standard, and a bit better than League 2 standard. I.E - League 1 standard...Grayson’s just doesn’t want to give the real reason why he didn’t stay.

 

Its a good deal the club have with the school, but it didnt go down too well when Grayson came out with that comment in the papers, which wasn't the brightest thing to say.
