I like that idea. But those type of managers are all in jobs. And I can't see edin paying compensation

If you can throw the towel in on your club for a poor 3/4mths, then you’re not the type of fan I want associated with my club.

Grayson has been poor but these aren’t his players and some have clearly put on their beachwear already. He’s trying to work with what he has, but let’s face it, the majority of those are just shit...!

 

I know what's you're saying I'm just pointing out that getting to a certain position during a certain point in the season (especially when there's 20 games left) isn't necessarily reflective of the teams ability. It's possible to do well points wise and still be shit.

If you want to use that as a bench mark fair enough but personally I think the position flattered us as the time, as you've also acknowledged, and all I saw during that period was a team with very limted ability.

 

A team with limited ability and quality.Example Three keepers.How many would you say have what it takes to move us forward.

 

Wyke and McGowan. The rest I'm not bothered about.

As for McGowan he's had 3 decent games for us.

 

And replace Wyke with whom?

 

McGowan has looked good but we can’t call him the messiah after three games. Three months of decent games and we’d be better placed to judge.

 

That’s what the scouting network is for. It almost certainly won’t be somebody who everybody has heard of and will almost certainly be underwhelming but hopefully they will do the job. In Edin’s shoes I’d say to his agent, is he signing a new deal? No? Right, he’s off. Then I’d worry about a replacement.

 

He was bought to be used in the first team straight away to give Wyke a rest, surely that coulda as first team squad? Not first team but first team squad

 

I think most accepted as a team we were over achieving right up to the New Year, even with injuries to players who would have been regular starters.
I honestly believe the owners thought with us doing so well it was just a matter of changing the manager and the team would kick on, there was something that happend around that time that effected team moral (I accept it shouldnt they are pro footballers and should not have reacted as they did) but we are where we are, I have to say even given the players are not Graysons players I would have thought he could have done better results wise.

 

And that's the worrying part! 3 games at the club and he still looked head and shoulder above our other defenders. We need to see more of him yes but right now I'd have him over NKP or Kilgallon

 

How you can lay the blame at one mans door is beyond me. Who is the person who provided Edin with the dross we have in the squad today?

It’s well documented that McCall knew about which players were coming to join the first team, so collectively they messed up. Just as Edin can’t take all the credit for the club getting to Wembley last year, he can’t take all the crap for where we are now.

You seem to forget that McCall admitted he didn’t know how to arrest the slide and set his own 4 points from 2 games target. Having lost the first of those, what did you expect the owners to do? Had it been your club, in the same situation, would you have sat by watching defeat after defeat. The players stopped playing for the club and no matter who was in charge, it made no difference (as we’ve seen).

Grayson might not produce the most attractive playing teams, but like Parky, he lays down the law, doesn’t encourage a culture of drink and (given the recruitment control), will build a winning side. If he gets us promoted, we can then look at bringing in a Manager more suited to modern game.

 

You see I don't buy this. For all we know Abbott recommended the likes of Dack and Marriott to Edin, only for him to say no they're too expensive. Abbott can only recommend players corresponding to the budget. If the budget is cut, you get inferior players, like we have seen.

Granted we should've got far more for our money, especially in terms of free transfers on a higher wage, but we all know Edin doesn't like this approach.

 

Let's not be quick to forget that McCalls "culture" got us to within a whisker of promotion and the an award for best discipline. This is idea that Grayson's method "works" at this club is so far completely unfounded, McCalls method did.

 

And what is the discipline like this season? Vince missed quite a few of the early games, Wyke sent off twice, Killa and Chicken once. McMahon 9 yellows, Vince 9 yellows, NKP 7 yellows and Dieng 7 yellows.

Grayson method can only be judged with his own players but he has proved he can get teams promoted, Stuart can’t and hasn’t.

 

Let's just wipe Stuarts record from last season then. Yeah that'll work. I can only judge Grayson next season if he gets backing which McCall clearly didn't get. If I judged him on his efforts so far I wouldn't want him next season.
