Can’t quite put my finger on this just yet. But something is going on for these appointments to be made. So is it Rupp realising his under investment is taking us nowhere or is a new owner in the pipeline. Something doesn’t quite ring true based on the last 4 years. Anyways a fresh start so let’s give it a chance. It will need to be next season now but with a clean slate.................

He'd lost 8 of the last 9. To have lost 12 on the trot, meant he'd have to had lost another nine in a row.

I don't get where this new owner narrative is coming from.

It's quite simple. Rupp's a businessman who sees his chances of getting some return on his investment improving, meaning he feels more relaxed about potentially investing more.

It's entirely predictable. Yes. That might mean we become more saleable, which also might be more attractive to him.

 

If that was the case though wouldn’t he have done that from the start? To be fair I personally don’t let my investments plod along, I certainly want a maximum return on my money

 

Where have you got that figure from? He’s apparently worth 100mill I would say he’s on to lose 10 mill with us currently as we are worth naff all. That’s 10% of his net worth, enough to give him a few sleepless nights.

 

I didn’t know there was a rhetoric of a new owner, I only made an off the cuff remark. I don’t think Rupp probably knew this would hit the mainstream media that it has. I think he’s actually clueless when it comes to football. Problem is he’s signed something off that everyone is now watching and not just us. Sparks (Not Hughes) is sacked if this doesn’t go to plan.

 

He probably thought he did. Let's remember we were on off-side goal / great keeper save away from been in The Championship. It wasn't as though we weren't a good time, in that first season of his.

i.e. it's not down to the recruitment skills of the club (although in fairness to Sparks he does have a good reputation) - so then Rupp sees this as a golden opportunity.

You're correct about 4 years of "plod". Which of course makes this lifeline even more attractive!!

Hopefully yes. I think a lot will swarm to buy us. Mark Hughes has given us a huge platform hence my comments on a new owner.

 

Seems to be a few posts suggesting Trueman was forced upon Adams. Not true. Adams openly said he recruited assistants from within at every club he’s been at. No conspiracy theories to be had.

 

If this goes wrong, he can still right where he is. A thousand or so miles away from the club.

 

Great appointment this, it’s someone who knows the league but also who MH would appear to trust.

I’m really getting excited by what’s happening and I’m kinda now having a little more faith in Herr Rupp.

Even the fact that he’s kept Trueman, we do need more coaches behind the scenes.. whatever we think of them they can still more than assist.

This summer is looking huge though, back these two and we might finally see this ship turn around!
