Woah there Dave. Two massively different things. Tordoff was asked to invest in a couple of players that Dolan believed we needed to get over the line. Tordoff knew we had Hendrie and McCall should we not get promoted, so an instant refund if needed.

Richmond borrowed money to build the ground and sign the players we needed to get us into the Premier League. It wasn’t THIS action that caused the years of pain. It was his stupidity of not building on the previous year and instead trying to buy success with borrowed money.

One took a risk that we couldn’t afford, whilst one refused to take a risk that we could afford. And that action from Tordoff will ALWAYS grate with our fans as a result.

 

Doesn't look good to turn a Porsche 4X4 over, and at 84 years old he will be shook up at best.

 

If this had genuine legs I wonder how private it would’ve stayed until a concrete bid was made, going public at this time seems to me that Gibb maybe testing the waters regards supporters reactions.

 

Yes. Name me a better group of players than Dele Ali, Rahim Sterling, Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Jordon Pickford and Jesse Lingard who are all available at our disposal? All them players are in there through merit and all round ability.

I know our history and I was as angry as the next fan at that meeting with Jack, but being careful with his money will always grind with some fans, where as Geoff nearly put us out of business.

We know Stefan is well minted are we going to compare Stefan with Jack, infact most are saying they are running the club in the correct manner.

We keep asking whether the owners have really learnt lessons well we've kept most of the team together and improved defence which was awful last year. Also we're not seeing a procession of Patricks, Pybus's, Barr's etc like last season which suggests we're more focused on the first team.

It feels like it's heading in the right direction and I'm certainly willing to give it time this season.

 

I'd suggest that's just what he wants, to get a feeling of fans opinions, but if as Edin says the club is not for sale then it would take a stupid man/men to pay way over the odds to try and wrestle the club from them.

 

I need no persuasion- I’m going to start a petition to get suites named after them. Legends.

 

That would depend on if we had other sponsors waiting to come in. I do agree with you that there is a myth in football that owners chuck their own own money in the club. Do they bollocks, when they do they want it back and then some, thats why they are business men. They don't get rich by giving money away. As Kevin alluded to, it all goes against offsetting your tax liabilities anyway.

Just read in the T&A article that he's barred from any involvement in the pension fund, some faint bells ringing but can anyone shed a light on the ins and outs of this?

 

Because they also won’t take risks and want to look at the finance side of the business instead of promotion?
