I beg to differ. As soon as we concede the first goal in any game, it is game over, the players do not have the mentality to fight for anything. That is not something that any manager can come in and change over 11 games.

Bower took over a club who were spiralling down the league and turned it round .
He used the loan market very well something we are going to need to do.
Nolan was interesting but I think Bowyer is probably is as good as we could get

People may be complaining that such an appointment is 'boring' or 'uninspiring'. That may be so, but he does have experience of clubs that are in a mess in the lower leagues.

Handing the job to someone with little to zero experience would be asking a lot of them, especially with that squad, and could possibly put the club at risk of falling out of the football league entirely.

Someone needs to come in to stop the rot and put in some solid foundations before there's any likelihood of moving forward again. A 'sexy' appointment might improve season ticket sales, but he won't look so attractive if the club's fighting for its very existence in 12 months time.

Happy with Bowyer if true. Decent bloke, knows his football, got Blackpool up despite their problems. He’s a good appointment for me.

Why would this appointment be boring? He is a youngish manager who did a good job at his last club.
Using that criteria would people prefer a reckless appointment.

I would say we are a significantly less toxic environment to work at than Blackpool for now, our fans have not led any mass boycott of games, thrown hundreds of objects on the pitch or forced any matches to be abandoned. At war with the players? Really? We are disgruntled with them because we are going down, like any other set of fans would be. If next years team performs well the mood will change.

    Totally!

Only one fella gives us the best chance of the instant bounce back effect against his old club Posh next Sat. Also who gives all long suffering fans the satisfaction of knowing that he'll be in there seriously kicking the backside of any City player not putting in a shift.... STEVE EVANS!

As a matter of fact you only have to compare the Evans- Bowyer overall managerial percentage match WIN records to realise that Evans tops Bowyer comfortably.

I hate Evans perhaps as much as anyone else on here but l just know we'll be heading nowhere by appointing Bowyer.

However divisive the decision maybe, giving Evans the job until the end of the season is a risk worth taking and his proven record really does give us the one slim chance we have ileft of avoiding the L2 abyss!

In the Clubs current shambolic state it's going to be an awful long way back from dreaded L2 football and there's a distinct possibility that iit could get even worse stiill.

    Please god it's STEVE EVANS!

    Couldn’t agree more.

Drury mentions the mental side of things needs to be addressed. All a new manager can do is paper over the cracks. These players don’t have the mental strength of character to come back when conceding. To stand any chance we’ve got to hold out for as long as possible.

These players don’t trust in each other.

I’m not too concerned who the new guy is because he’s on a hiding to nothing.

It's likely not Evans because Rhodes doesn't like him ? For me that's all the more reason it should be Evans and I agree far far better to give Evans the job to the bitter end at least it gives us the chance of "the bounce back" factor v Peterborough !. But more than that the fans can count on Evans to give this pathetic bunch a right hammering to the season end and who knows might just might work a miracle ???. Evans was never ever who I would wish to manage Bradford City but he's exactly what we need right here and now and deserve ! If it's Boreyer I want to see "change" in these final games ? It needs to amount to at the very least making us defensively organised and to show some signs of a "Boreyer Team". Also he needs to arrest the slide that is seeing us cut further adrift !. For Boreyer to be viewed as a manager for us League 2 that's a minimum. Evans I would argue would achieve that and most importantly be the exact right man for our League 2 future !
