Couldn't agree more. I think today really made me realize...OMG Mark Hughes really is our manager and Glyn Snodin our assistant. Of course it was a great win away at the runaway league leaders, that any football fan would be delirious about if they were mid table. But it also felt like a big step forward - Hughes and Snodin are making the best of what they've got and organizing them in a way I haven't seen for what, four or five years?

 

People realising just how bad Derek Adams was for this football club. One can only look at his time here as being abject failure and puts to bed the myth that because you are successful elsewhere does not mean you will be here. Personally I never wanted him in the first place and wasnt thrilled when he was given the job. Thankfully he's gone now and we can try and move forward. Just a shame we wasted yet another season which means yet another season of league 2 football at least.

Agreed. Even if we'd somehow managed to bore our way to the playoffs and scrape into L1, would we really have wanted to continue watching Adams' prehistoric tactics and incessant negativity for longer? I certainly wouldn't.
Hughes is clearly intent on us playing decent football and hopefully his status will attract some better players so we can have a real go next year.

 

Glad someone is finally giving Snodin the recognition he deserves, his role has practically been ignored by most.

Yes on refection even if he'd got us promoted as @Offcomedun says it would have been the same old stuff in league one, early days yet under Sparkie but we've seen a definite improvement in all the games he's been involved with so far this season, long may it continue.

 

The gulf between Adams and Hughes isn’t even worth debating. I don’t mind admitting even after 3 games it’s highlighted to me just how bad things were under Adams which I didn’t perhaps appreciate.

That said grounding moment - it’s only 3 games. Happy though the signs are so much more positive.

 

Lovely to see a win. I think some of the posts are getting a little carried away, but fair enough after the recent period.

A decent battling performance and the rub of the green. That team is still 5-6 better players off promotion challenge.

Nice to see Cook put the winner away but I am sure that will be the first position to be addressed close season.

And he has more points in his first 3 games than deluded Del has. He is most certainly a better man manager than DA and doesn't have an ego either that was ultimately DA's downfall. By all accounts Evans has been putting in a decent shift yet under DA not got a sniff.

 

All I ask from a manager is that he sends out a team with the squad players available given the best chance of competing. I can't forgive Adams for not doing that. If you get beat by the better team you hold your hands up but Adams was sending that team out beat before they'd even kicked off. Never admitting responsibility and hanging the players out to dry just 2 of his awful character traits. Easier u der Hughes to now spot where we are genuinely weak.
