    Not sure I said that the PL shouldn’t decide when to hold matches? However my supposition is that the timing is money lead. Not being a supporter of a particular Premiership Club, it is of little consequence to me.

    Did you watch the U 21 ‘s against the second string Germans last night. Couldn’t hid a barn door if truth be known……The better players are all away on this “ best world club” tournament . They were awful and few looked better than CC at best.. And we want to compete with the best?

    A bit of forward thinking now. In5 years or so, the fixture release dates will have nothing to do with Sky, it will be DAZN. Newly acquired Saudi entity. Read the background of their bid to cover this silly tournament.

    Really hope we don't get drawn against Leeds U21s. It would end up being a no win game, as we either win as expected or we lose and Leeds fans will be unbearable. I also doubt we would make much money from it after police costs so no financial benefits.

    All opening EFL games to be broadcast live on Sky Sports, including Saturday 3pm kick-offs on the first two weekends of the season.

    The EFL have also confirmed the schedule for games to be confirmed for TV selection:
    • Tomorrow: Selections for the opening weekend
    • 3rd July: games up until the end of September
    • 31st July: games up to and including FA Cup 3rd round weekend (10th Jan)
    • 7th November: Games up until the end of February
    • 4 week rolling basis for games from March to the 3rd last games
    • Selections of the penultimate round of games will be made 3 weeks before
    • Last round of games will be the week before
    With us being in League 1 I'm expecting more selections early on, also for league 1 all games are broadcast with a minimum of 4 camera rather than just the 1 for league 2 games so the coverage should be better.

    I'm hoping we get an OK first game, if we get a big game especially against one of the newly relegated clubs I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up as the opening game on the Friday night with the Championship not starting until the week after.
