As a rule Town and City are at home at the same time and Leeds are away. Obviously international breaks mess this up but that’s the general rule due to the police.

The Premier League have said it is nothing to do with this. They've tried to say it is due to player recovery and making sure each team has at least 48 hours in between each match and some matches will still be moved for broadcast but that doesn't make sense as they could play Boxing Day then 30th.

Is there some reason why Sky and the PL shouldn't be making £££££s from their activities? I don't understand that thinking. Along with other lower league clubs, we benefit from their millions albeit in a much smaller way than the PL clubs themselves. Without their £££££s every year, we and many other clubs would struggle to survive.

Steady on, that certainly doesn't doesn't fit the narrative here.

Indeed. My own view is that the distribution of the finance to clubs is distorted and parachute payments in particular need to be rebalanced. But I'm all for the golden geese of Sky and the PL to make money .. and for lower league clubs to benefit from their largesse.

“ In a much smaller way” , spot on and therein lies the issue.

“Cash will shutter down the leagues from the top through transfer activity alone” . What happened to that plan?

“Cash will shutter down the leagues direct from the Premiership clubs through a wide ranging agreement .” What happened to that agreement ?

Still waiting for those two Dennis .

I don't know what specifically you're referring to but all EFL clubs already benefit from the agreement with the PL clubs collectively paying solidarity payments to them every year.

Oh yes, not forgetting the 50% of the costs of operating lower league clubs' Academies which in our case provides another £500k each year.

No idea? That’s for the Prem clubs along with the regulator to be , to sort out . Meanwhile the prem progresses to a “ closed shop” on a potential franchise basis? Who knows but I don’t like what’s happening before our eyes.

The current “ Club” tournament is testament to the future which is another made for TV collaboration . The list of entrants shows it up for what it is , allegedly for the 32 best clubs in the world . What an utter load of US led crsp. Imho of course .

Those are measly sums when people like Grealish are on £350k a week as an individual. Didnt Man City’s player salary annual budget alone come to £400 m last season… Of course they have a right to a top salary but therein is the issue …it’s gone too far. Imho.

Not sure anyone has ever made the argument that its for the 32 best clubs in the world.

Even the world cup doesnt guarantee the best 32 countries in the world being present.

The teams represented at the club world cup, are the qualifying teams as per each confederation/continent in much the same way the world cup works.

italy didnt qualify for the 2022 world cup yet arabia, iran, usa, qatar, senegal, ecuador, mexico, tunisia, japan, costa rica and Canada did. That doesnt mean any of the teams are better than Italy.

That's all a bit of a smokescreen in fairness. I fail to understand how any of that supports your original view that Sky and the PL shouldn't be making ££££s from their own activities and advertising or that there aren't agreements in place to share some of the wealth of the PL with lower league clubs.

The sums mentioned are peanuts, that’s the real smokescreen , to the Prem and its wealthy owners and inversely immense for Sky’s profitability or recently loss prevention. and license to print cash. Yet people winge and whine about illegal streaming . Is that because they want to see more money going to Sky and Premiership clubs, or is it because they acknowledge they want to see more shuttering down the EFL pyramid? We can’t have it both ways yet the Prem thinks the must have the interminable right to divi up how they see fit.

My bonkers Sky bill is tantamount to the largesses of the Prem…..What other options are there?
Somewhat of a cartel between Murdoch and World football perhaps because whoever came along, Sky / Fox etc would simply outbid them.

So as said all along it’s ££££££££££’s,, I forget who said it but it’s , forgive the pun on the money. thats not a smokescreen that’s something a blind man could see. If the cake was shared sufficient to cater for grass roots football then great , but it isn’t to any meaningful degree.

Strange to say the least. Imagine being able to "divi up" money you've earned, who'd have thought eh?

Football is more about the have's and have not's these days than its ever been
The gulf between the top and bottom is massive and only going to get greater
The top clubs think football begins and ends with them, hence the failed European super league
This world club championship , is a complete waste, Chelsea played in front of 50,000 empty seats apparently, and i thought the top club played too many games.
How long before 2 more premier league teams are owned by the yanks and fundamental changes pushed through, franchises, no relegation, the list is endless.
The proposition of the premier league is now a spot on the horizon and brings nothing but greed to the English game and still has not produced enough home grown players to win a tournament as a National team, which we were told it would
What is it 40 - 50 - 60 years of hurt, i will be amazed if we ever see it.
Would i like to see city get back there, not if it means selling are sole to the devil of greed and self interest.
