With the Premier League fixture list being released tomorrow we should get a general idea of our home/away pattern as the general agreement with the police is that we play away when Leeds are at home and vice versa.

I'm not sure how much we can work out about the opening day as the Premier League start date is 2 weeks after league 1 and like last season teams can be given away, home, home starts or home, away, away. We should know if we are at home on boxing day/new years day as well as the final day.

    They’ve already been leaked apparently.

Leeds are at Chelsea on Boxing Day.

I realise this post could be complete bollox.

There's always someone claiming to have a leaked fixture list but they never end up as true and this looks like it's the same as they've listed Leicester as playing on the last day and Forest playing twice on 30th December. The opening day also has both Man City & Man Utd away which would never happen

I know Sky and the PL are arseholes but no chance in hell Leeds have to travel to Chelsea on boxing day. It will be Burnley, Everton or Newcastle etc

Premier League have decided they are not going to schedule games on boxing day this season for some reason but instead have them scheduled then on the 27th.

Looking at the fixtures for Leeds if we are still the team that needs to be opposition to them then we should be:
    • Home: Boxing day & 30th December
    • Away: New Years day
    • Away: last day of the season

Save every year - take the railways for example, there’s always engineering works over Christmas. Not sure why the Premier League think this year is any different?

We're usually at home on the last day. The club requests it so we can remember the fire victims.

Not always though - e.g. 2020 (Salford away), 2021 (Morecambe away).

Yes, not always. The club do request it though I believe.

2020, Salford was only the last game because of Covid.

Man Utd vs Arsenal as an opening weekend fixture would have been bonkers to think about a few years ago...

With Utds decline and horrendous finish last season a big opening day fixture is what they deserve! Whets the appetite for the season I suppose!

Leeds are away on 23rd August meaning City will be at home so first match 3 weeks earlier should be away ?

Is this even a thing, or has it been mere coincidence? im of the incling that its been a fallacy.

would West yorkshire police really give a rats arse if we have been at home to colchester at the same time Leeds were at home? Policing levels at our games have been minimal for a long time, aside from Carlisle and Grimsby games.

Huddersfield is just as near to leeds as Bradford is and they have had more high profile games (with higher proportion of away fans) for a number of years so if anything it would make sense for them two to be apart if anything.

If working on the same proviso, that means us and huddersfield will have to have alternate fixtures this season and so Leeds (Even though 90% of their games wont be a saturday) will have to be paired with someone

Who's idea was it to release the premier league fixtures one full week before the rest when their season starts two weeks after ours? Just seems another way of marketing the Premier League above everyone else in the country. It wasn't long since it was all done on the same day. Is this just so Sky and Co fan fawn over the fixtures for the next week as news?

It used to be a thing, when we were competing closer to the top.

But there's been numerous times in more recent years where we've been at home the same time as Leeds. Its certainly not a hard and fast rule anymore.
