how can anybody hate fishing. I fish matches twice a week love it.

 

Never fished in my life. Love eating them though, preferably in batter with a plate full of chips

never caught a match best fish though is a 19lb carp.

 

I can’t think of anything duller than sitting watching a rod for hours on end. I see these blokes on the canal near Esholt and wonder what the attraction is.

 

Being at peace with oneself. A lot to be said for that.

 

I agree. Just don't see the need for a rod to achieve it.

I love catching Barbel.

Carp fishing and match fishing are not for me, but give me many hours sitting by the river.

If you have to ask what fishing is about you don't need to know.

 

As a birder of well over 60 years one of the supreme 3 minutes of my life was when a Kingfisher landed on my fishing rod.

I could only watch and admire.
