    Even if we ignore the fact that that almost all of Trumps claims about bringing peace are bullshit, surely a FIFA peace award should goto someone actually involved in football. I'm thinking someone like Mata with his Common Goal initiative

    This is the same FIFA who've banned a number of nations in recent years for "government interference".

    If the World cup is 10% of what that draw is it's going to be painful, Trump is going to be front and centre of the tournament and there's no way he won't make himself the centre of the picture at the trophy lift in the final like he did in the club world cup.

    It was going to take some doing for FIFA to get a worse president than Blatter but Infantino is running him close.

    The MLS just made this award Trump got look even more stupid. They just gave the Impact award at Half Time in the MLS Cup final and it went to Real Salt Lake City player Diego Luna for his work empowering young people to speak openly about mental health. He got a small trophy but the main reward was the league giving him $150,000 of funding to help with what he has been doing.

    That's exactly the kind of thing FIFA's peace price should have gone to, a footballer doing something that in one way or another helps bring people closer and it should have come with a monetary prize to help that further. Actually do some help at making this world better rather than stroking the ego of a thin-skinned idiot
