Perhaps you can help with the prize money? From what I can see, if we win tomorrow, we get £10,000. If we win by a big enough margin and progress to the next round, then we are guaranteed a further £20,000 irrespective of whether we win or not in the next stage?

Totally agree Wetherby. Liked the look of some of his runs and pick ups, but then anonymous for stretches, didn't ask for it or put himself into good positions. The difference methinks, between potentially full time pro players and the leagues below. Consistency and bloody minded persistency.

A comment around our scouting (I know it’s my favourite subject!) early FA cup, qualifying rounds, 1st round, etc should be an ideal time to have a look at non-league prospects.
One swallow doesn’t make a summer but if someone shows something about them, check their past stats and maybe keep and eye on them.
    However I don’t think that’s our way

Just a thought (and I know one or two others have mentioned it) but perhaps we should look to extend our link with Tonbridge beyond the one cup match. These are the comments of the Chairman of Tonny, I think you will agree they are very complimentary to our club.

"Many thanks to everyone associated with Bradford and their football club for making this such a memorable occasion for Tonbridge Angels and I hope that the clubs in some way can continue an association and keep in touch and all the best for the rest of the season and into the future"

With our fans fundraising efforts as well I just think this is goodwill story that could transcend one occasion

Jon, I was suggesting we try and build stronger ties - not end it in one swift move! ;)

I dropped an email to their Chairman yesterday on behalf of Ryan and myself and have had a nice response from him and also their new Director Sophie McGill who ran York with first supporters then her Father and Brother before moving South.
On Saturday they did mention a pre season game if we were down there, that's with Ryan but too early for stuff like that. Nice people, nice club and over the moon with the £6k Just giving effort.

If you have time, then you could let them know that this website in particular, has a lot of good will towards them. I think the condition of the pitch, for a small club, was in an excellent shape, given that it was one of the wettest Octobers since 1862, particularly in the South. https://blog.metoffice.gov.uk/2020/11/03/uk-sees-fifth-wettest-october-since-1862/

Size isn't a problem though if you're good enough? Many smaller players have done well. Look at the lad Oztumer (ex Walsall, Bolton, now at Charlton) to.name only one.
This lad at Tonbridge simply took my eye and as you say, he's only played at non-league level. Perhaps, should he be good enough at league level, he wouldn't move on as much.
It would blow his mind to walk out at VP in front of 15/16k!

Being in a crowd of that size at City was great for the fans too but seems a long time ago now and I guess it will be some time again for various reasons...

Sadly the first of many, could see a lot of non league teams going bust. Maybe even to the point of where we become more like Scotland and don’t have a pyramid from league to non league.

Sadly the case for most clubs at this level.
