Match Thread FA Cup 1st Round - Away v Tonbridge Angels

I remember BPA beating us in pre season a few years ago, so I won't go into this underestimating Tonbridge as they're technically at the same level, but it's a bloody must win, gonna be absolutely gutting if we get beaten.

We shouldn't be going into this game worrying about the result too much, but I think it's a sign of the times we are in as a club that we're actually contemplating getting beaten by Tonbridge Angels.

 

Weather next Saturday is expected to be light cloud and a gentle breeze. No excuses there then.

He's looked as below average as the rest in that piss weak midfield.

 

Can't agree with that. Other than the mistake at Bolton, he hasn't done anything wrong. I think he's one of only a couple of players who have performed well so far.

 

I know we’re not doing very well at the moment, but, what do we know about the Angels? Form, tactics, key players?

I’m a glass half- full person in general. For now, all I’ve seen is @wetherbywhaler with the suggestion Angels will pack the defence and play for pens. So, expecting a cautious, scrappy win for City.

 

For me,tactics would be score from set pieces.
I think we could dominate in their box and both
O'Connors are capable of getting headers in.

We can't create and score from open play so
unless our midfield can create and score our
forwards won't make much impression although
young Samuels may find he excels against this
opposition and if used right,his pace could create
problems for them.

Which channel is it on - BT Sport? I've seen the Beeb touting FC Manchester v Donnie, but haven't seen mention of us (no change there).

Angels are actually only 6/1 to beat us. Kind of sums up our form.

 

It's on the BBC red button I think so tucked away from the main channels so they can look after their Manc favourites
