    Agree it's a problem if we are still debating it! Even if Clarke did play alongside Hanson for a long time (tbh I can't especially remember them as a strike partnership so I must have blanked it from my memory) it still doesn't make him a striker, IMO

    That's my view as well.

    With all of the squad changes, I believe we've gone backwards so far compared to last season although how that compares with most other clubs, I've no idea. Having seen only one pre-season game, the perforamce at Town confirms my view about the quality of the squad having reduced. But it could all change with a small number of additions to the squad.

    Without those additions, I have lowish expectations for the coming season with a mid table finish. With some new recruits, however, I'd expect to be comfortably in the second quartile and pushing for the play-offs. That of course all depends on what else we do before the transfer window closes.

    Play off place for me, a couple more signings and a slice of luck with regards injuries well be there or there abouts IMO.

    Mid to lower table for me. Hopefully not in a major scrap for survival. Theres no way we'll be anywhere near the promotion party with the current squad

    It isn't as simple as a salary cap suits smaller (poorer) teams.

    What it does is mean that the Manager, Coaches and Talent Spotting team become much more important as the money that you can spend players is a level playing field for all teams.

    If I have interpreted the information provided clubs can spend what they want on coaches and talent spotting resources. These will become critical elements in the new world.

    Young adaptable players who can be moulded into any playing system will become a much sought after, highly valued commodity.

    I personally think it will make the league much more interesting.

    Expectation - I want promotion.

    Realistically - Tranmere, Southend and Bolton will finish above us to replace Swindon, Crewe and Plymouth.
    Salford will go above us to replace Northampton.
    Can we improve past Colchester, Exeter, Cheltenham and Port Vale and hope nobody other than Salford comes past us. Based on post-Christmas form in the division and changes to our squad, i don’t think so.

    I’m afraid I’m pitching 8th - 10th at the moment.

    It’ll be a strange season and luck will play a big part r.e. injuries, Covid postponements and fixture backlog. I believe we have got some slack in the budget still but it’ll be junior loans for now with an eye on the mid-season window.

    Captain Admin is playing the prudence card, probably looking to the following season. This will be a wasted season and another missed opportunity.

    I expect to be underwhelmed, anything more will be considered a bonus and a pleasant surprise.

    One thing I am certain of, I am sick to death of League Two football.
