Look, since being in change Edin has proven that he can't be trusted when it comes to words.

I agree it does depend how much. However considering the hours he puts in and that he put all his livelihood into it buying the club I don't begrudge him taking a salary.. and if it's £100k then that's a small amount for the role he does..

Considering the Bolton owner took out £500k in "consultancy" fees last year things could be much much worse.

 

Yes i believe the libal route is getting seriously looked in to.

 

Lets not kid ourselves all 92 owners within the football league will be taking money out of the club one way or another.. end of the day it's an investment they will want a return when they can get one. To think otherwise is just plain naive!

So accepting your logic Edin was after a specific fitness coach and he knew he had his notice to work, don't you think the fact that the said fitness coach was going to miss all preseason and not be available until late October, Edin would have made sure we had a fitness coach in until the one Edin wanted was available.
The most important time for a football clubs preseason and we are without a fitness coach for almost a month,.
Seriously lets say an engineering company knew one of their highly skilled machinists was leaving on a certain date and they had no replacement lined up for the job he did it would not have a knock on effect to the rest of the company's workforce, of course they wouldn't more excuses @City-since-67.

 

It might want to be upfront about the amount, to quell the rumours. I agree 100k is about right, I would also like some accountability, and that would be down to Rupp. So far we have seen a calamitous start, so regardless of hours, we need quality as well as hard work. However, I wasn’t aware Mrs Rahic was also taking a salary as a secretary; now that is not a particular specialist area, and I most certainly object if it was anything above 30k. Plus it smacks of nepotism and against equality practice, we should be looking to get the best person for the job, and advertising so it is all honest and above board.

 

I work and have worked for large organisations in the past.. and speaking with Senior Personal Assistants/secretaries they're earning close to £70k a year.. it's more of a skilled job then people give it credit for and you need a lot of skills to do it..

I agree with them being more open in terms of accounts.. This will greatly help build the trust.

Unfortunately words are exactly that words, there is very little we as fans can do apart from taking him at his word ( how many more times), his possible get out of jail card is Dave Hopkin we all hope the lad can stabilize the good ship Bradford City and climb the league.
Its really not nit picking there were serious questions that needed answering Edin's ghost writer has put a strong worded statement out for us fans some like yourself will believe every word ( not unexpected for an employee of the club) on the other hand I'm far from convinced.
Time will tell Ray if Edin believes the situation is serous enough to put a statement out now, if things don't change for the better he will need several ghost writers to prepare his future statements.

 

its the things he hasn't said that are most interesting, rather than what he has.

no mention of regret in how the McCall affair was handled. no mention in taking a step back from the football side, no mention of James Mason, and his departure. no mention of not having any proper player liason in place. You could argue that all this shouldn't matter to the fans, and that's probably correct, but it would go a long way towards righting wrongs and appeasing the masses.

I hope Hopkin appoints his own back room staff, I hope Drury either returns to coaching the development side, or the youngsters or leaves, and if Abbott is to be retained, I hope it's back in recruitment, and I hope he is given more slack to carry it out.

I want to see less gossip/rumours/stories of treating players and club staff poorly, I want to see less talk of Edin doing this or that at training, or in the dressing room, and I want to see less quite clearly sub standard players arriving that Edin has obviously unearthed for us.

if he is genuine in the things he's said, and is genuine with the things he hasn't, we could start moving forward again.

 

Well we wouldn’t know whether Mrs Rahic is qualified to do this job or not, and I would be more inclined to be relaxed about the pay if I knew a proper interviewing process had taken place. Most companies and organisations would not entertain a prospective candidate who is married to the boss.

Once again it is how it is seen that matters.

As I’ve said football is a business now and people will try make money out of it.. that’s been the way since forever.. name me a Bradford City Owner/Chairman who didn’t try make money out of the club? The key is success when we’re successful stuff like this is irrelevant.. no one batted an eye lid when it came out Lawn was getting 10% interest on his investment, why? Cause we’d just got promoted and to a cup final.. it’s now up to Edin, Stefan and whoever else t make sure they give DH every tool he requires to turn things around and get us out of this mess and go from there.

Looking through the employment agencies and the salary for a fully qualified secretary with experience seems to between £20k -£25k, Qualified legal secretaries the same, Leeds Utd are seeking a fully qualified legal secretary with the salary offered of £20k - £24k.

 

he can't control the gossip/social media side though, that's something you/us as fans need to get our heads around and either ignore it or believe only the stuff that comes from reliable sources.

Totally agree about his backroom staff and Drury. As for Abbott I'm still not convinced. I think if he appointed a proper recruitment team including scouts and all then I'd have more confidence in future recruitment.

 

I agree with most of your post if things on the field were going well of course fans would not be alarmed.
