I know there are some on here and other forums, that agreed with the decision to sack McCall. Yet he gave us 18mths of decent, match-winning football. And despite taking us to Wembley, still had Rahic in his ear telling him to resign. He was working in incredible conditions and still did a more than reasonable job. Our poor form in Jan, simply gave Edin the excuse he had been waiting for.

No apology ever made for THAT mistake or Rahic’s treatment of McCall leading up to the sacking.

You can tell we have our new Media Manager. Those weren't Edin’s own words, but those of a professional he has hired.

 

I guess that's what any businessman does when they go into a new business, identify areas of weakness and try improve it. He's just done it in a bull in a china shop way and it's backfired. I don't know if he's got rid of good people at the club but he has made ones that have left very unhappy.

For me this is hopefully the start of possibly a different/new way of trying appease fans. I read on Twitter that there is something in the pipeline for meetings with supporters clubs, his appearance the other nights seems to have been the start and we can only hope that he does what he is saying he will do and take a step back and look at the bigger picture in order to try get some success here.

That or he's on his final warning from Rupp!!

I actually already feel for DH, very early days but I feel it's the wrong club at the wrong time for him in his personal career.
The squad he's inherited is weak, this division is abundant with seasoned tough professionals.
Hopefully, there's a couple of free agents can galvanise this team to get 50points.
Don't hold your breath on Billy Liar giving him a decent budget in January, his policy of making a complete bollox of everything he touches is stoically on course for destruct.
He's his own and his missus's wage to pay, plus the initial investment of buying the club will be wanting a return.
If he and the other sock-puppet are still here of course.

Edin's passion for power and lack of experience and understanding of his role has undeniably stuck the boot into our Club and worst of all, it's image. He is a lucky man to be supported by his backer Rupp because he has failed to demonstrate any ability for the job. He is misguided, in the interests of PR, that his apologies will have credence. Mistakes by others have brought due consequences on themselves and he should think carefully over further manoeuvres.The last thing any Club needs is an Owner who becomes a liability to it's own survival. Yes, he has focused on sustainability financially, but this was ill-judged against the failings on the football side, which led to declining ST sales. His priority should have been to invest and bring success on the field, thereby sustaining support and then gradually attend to the structure of the Club.In my view he put the cart before the horse simply because he mortgaged himself to the hilt to live his dream. I hope this is a watershed for him and as others have said, that he seeks and listens to those whose experience and expertise is of value to our wellbeing. Obviously, in order to do that he has to employ people who meet that criteria.

 

You say it's due to inexperience.. yet the 2 people who were at fault for all 3 goals have played over 400 games between them.

Him and his wife drawing a salary is not what you said though is it ? You said they were "trousering" èvery penny they can. No fitness coach for a month - perhaps the one they really wanted had to work his notice period ! Drove Mason out ? 6 month ago half the people on here thought he was a liability..now he's gone he's a god !!

The McCall sacking is part of the job and as a football manager. I don't see why he has to apologies for that, it's a decision that needed to be made. Tbh I'm not sure I've ever heard a chairman apologise for sacking a manager and I don't see why he would have to.

The treatment or apparent treatment of him is a completely different matter.

 

Are they both drawing salaries though?

 

Similar to everyone complaining about the players fitness levels whilst Short was here, yet now he's some kind of fitness guru. Maybe the disagreement between him and Edin was because the players weren't fit enough?? Just a guess.

 

Does it matter if they are?

 

Ask the haters. They seem to know everything. Ask the ones that say they are paying themselves £250000 a year !!

 

That comment made me smile mate, as the first home game of Stuarts second season I was meet by someone who made that very comment.
Edin is like a bull in a China shop upsetting people and sponcors, I didnt want to believe it at the time, but how true has it been.
So sad when we all welcombed them into our club for what they were saying at the time, 2 years down the road we see it very differently.

Well it depends on how much tbh. We have seen cuts in staff, so I would need to know that it is reasonable. I suppose given the situation, it is how it is seen don’t you think. There are some fans who now think that our club has become a vehicle to pay the Rahic family a salary, rather than a vehicle to play competitive football.
